Article pretty much nails it. If McCown loses that might actually be our best option. If he goes all Ryan Fitzpatrick and manages to win us 3 of the last 8 that is really not a good outcome. Both QB's suck and we are pretty much stuck with both and unable to replace with quality. There just isn't any upside to this move.
100% agree with you on that. We're starting old mediocre with no upside over young mediocre with some upside with what expected outcome? If McCown wins a few games, all it does is push us back in next year's draft with no hope of landing an elite QB, and it doesn't solve our QB issues....I can't believe anyone is banking on McCown to be the future of the franchise at this point in his career....so the only beneficiary of this move is McCown.If Glennon starts...he can either improve down the stretch and provide hope for the future or regress completely and provide hope for the future in the form of a high draft pick.The logical move for most of us would be to stay with Glennon, but I guess a head coach with no OC to help should not be expected to be logical.
