I am one that believes a QB can improve with the right coaching. Maybe JFF can be a great QB in the NFL, but what I’ve seen so far suggests he is a project. I’m not saying he isn’t worth the investment, just that I would expect him to put up Mike Glennon numbers in year 1. All these scrambling QBs make some people think that the QB doesn't have to be a very good passer in the pocket. That's simply not true. At the most basic level, JFF is a guy who looks more comfortable outside the pocket than in the pocket and that doesn't work nearly as well as it did in college. I'd be much less upset if we used our 2nd on him than our 1st. I think a 3rd round pick on JFF would be a push in my eyes.
