I can't disagree, but if all the players had longer records of sustained success they'd cost one and a half to two times what we're paying for them. So we're hopefully being smart, getting in on the ground floor, and getting ascending players who in a year will be considered underpaid.
agree on this. everyone wants an proven elite player, but no one wants to pay that contract. added to that, most dont want to give young players time to become elite. its a pretty nasty catch 22.
Another factor is the Derrick Ward factor. Players may not fit our scheme as well. Another reason to try to avoid the big money free agents.
