Just tryin-a keep it real around here. With the decision making of this new regime, I’m expecting us to move up in the draft and pick Manziel. Everyone is all over Lovie’s ballz despite the fact he’s making some questionable player personnel.

Problem is, all these fools around here don’t want to hear anything bad about our shining new coach. Everyone is so in love that they’d rather bash me for considering the idea that we should or shouldn’t have gotten rid of a certain player than actually be objective about L&L super-aggressive approach.

No, they played man with two safety shell over the top to prevent the deep ball, which gave Doug some running room.

      1. Overpaid for McCown then anointed him starter. I've detailed in depth how/why McCown put up huge numbers but will be returned to his normal back up status. It should be an open competition.2. Got rid of Mike for reasons seemingly more related to personal reasons than actually committing a crime or doing something on the field.3. Aggressive signings of Mike Johnson and A. Collins who could hamstring this team if they don't work out. Johnson was a one year wonder and Collins played well in back/reserve roll. starting LT is a different story.4. Revis. Trading away your best defensive player because he doesn't fit your scheme seems very Schiano-esque. I'm one of the few being objective around here. Shaking things up is okay. Trading away talent never makes the team better. He's now created a hole on offense so big we're almost certain of taking a WR in the 1st round. So now what if Kalil Mack drops? Or Teddy? Or anyone else? We now NEED a 1st round talent at WR to take Mike's spot.

yet another sheep post about "plenty of time". So go a head and list the FA available that can fill in for Mike? Then list rookies in the draft? Its not about time. We have more than enough time. It's available talent that is causing the problem, ie there is no on the FA market and the talent in the draft requires a high pick investment. Certainly more than the 6th we got back for mike.

Where did I say "plenty of time", sh*t-for-brains?You are implying that Lovie will be a failure 5 months before the season starts. It's hilarious that you are "one of the few" keeping it real. That's laughable. You were creating threads even before the start of free agency noting that you don't get the excitement behind the signing of Lovie. It's obvious to everyone here that you have an agenda. Every move that Lovie and crew made..or didn't make, was going to be b*tched about by the ultimate board b*tch.

Or anyone else? We now NEED a 1st round talent at WR to take Mike's spot.

So now....let's pick this B.S. apart, shall we.1. Overpaid for McCown? QBs get paid substantially more than other positions when not on the rookie deals that we have seen the past 3 seasons from newly drafted QBs. His salary is fair for a QB who will be in competition for the starting position. Yes, competition, because that is what it will be. Lovie declared that he will be that starter when camp/preseason opens. That doesn't make him the declared starter for week 1 of the 2014 season.2. They got rid of Mike because it was becoming obvious that his focus was not on being the best player for the Bucs. He couldn't stay out of the news and every other week there seemed to be a new negative story coming out with Mike at the center of it. It was not good for the organization and was a distraction for the team. That was something that was reiterated by ownership, GM, and the HC.3. How could the Michael Johnson signing "hamstring" this team? We would be right back to where we were last year with Clayborn and Bowers/Gholston. Bullsh*t there. As far as Collins, not sure that could be looked at as more of a risk than keeping Penn. Penn is on the back 9 of his career, and Collins still has potential room for growth. You could make the "potentially hamstring" argument about any player signed. "What happens if they get injured, or aren't a scheme fit, or blah blah blah." Fact is, we upgraded our pass rush, and we at minimum signed an LT who is younger and will play at the level Penn did in '12.4. For Lovie/Frazier's system, you wouldn't have seen much of a difference in the play of Verner vs. Revis. People are making a mountain out of a molehill in regards to losing Revis. All that was really lost was having a player with a great reputation. Reputation doesn't equal wins....and no. We don't "need" to take a WR in the first. This is one of the deepest WR classes in years. Hell, the player you are whining about losing was drafted in the...4th round. The Bucs can go multiple directions with their first, despite what certain menstruating fans think.

+1This thread is a good example of what makes a lot of the threads on here almost unreadable.  If a poster is "against" a certain player or coach then EVERYTHING from that poster about that player or coach is negative, to the point of stretching the truth  so that it will mesh with the poster's agenda:

      1. Overpaid for McCown then anointed him starter. I've detailed in depth how/why McCown put up huge numbers but will be returned to his normal back up status. If you want to tell me that they shouldn't be starting, that's fine. I'm saying that keeping them until they are replaced is a safer play for us. The draft is a crap shoot and no one knows how it will play out. Keeping Zuttah, or williams, until we find a guy that can beat them out in camp is safe. We cut bait and now have large holes to fill in. Unless they feel much better about Owusu and Meredith that most do.

There are systems that use CBs differently. In one system, it would be fairly important to have a CB who is considered top 3 caliber. In others, you wouldn't need to have a guy who is in bump and run M2M shutdown coverage. Verner is good at what he does. We won't miss Revis. He couldn't stay out of the headlines and was becoming a distraction. He was warned and didn't comply. He is hardly irreplaceable. What's the alternative to signing one of the better DEs on the open market and signing Collins to a cap friendly deal in comparison to other LTs. Keep Penn? No. Target someone else in FA (who you would sure have a problem with because of who is doing the signing)? End up having to draft an OT with one of our 1st 2 picks in the draft? Teams sign "unproven" players every year. This is a roster turnover. Very common. The Bucs could have had a "perfect" offseason and they weren't winning the SB. Lovie took over a team that was a mess in the trenches, had grossly overpaid and overrated players in the secondary, and had no depth. I understand the resistance to the "it just takes time" stuff....but Jesus H. Christ....we haven't even made it through the first offseason yet.

You could be right. I'll happily eat some fresh crow if the product looks nice in a few months. I'm less than pleased currently.

Did they lose yesterday? Did they look bad out there on the field? If they didn't I don't see how you can be displeased with something that hasn't even taken the practice field yet.

Revis = Verner? okay, sure.Obvious he didn't like football? because he drinks and partys? Think he's the only one on this team doing that? Others are smarter to hide it better.Mike Johnson and unproven LT got long term deals with guarenteed money, meaning they're on this team for at least 3 years regardless of how well, hopefully, or bad they play.

Schiano was my golden goose. Thought we were going to be set for 10 years with him. Turns out he was one of the worst NFL coaches in the history of the game so now I question questionable moves with no allegiance to anyone, other than the W. I feel free. I'm not longer here to defend anyone. The analysis is what it is. I'm on the side of truth and Buccaneer football fans all over! You probably won't like what I have to say from now on, but I'll be damned if it isn't true. Probably more truth than most want.

ironic . .  . and to think we cut Revis because he didn't fit in this defense . . .  and not for the contract etc..  Oh wait, we also cut Williams because of a personal matter, not because he did not appear to be committed to football.  Yep, way to deliver that TRUTH!! The Revis release, not one I personally enjoyed, wasn't an all bad move as it did clear up space to improve other areas. Mike was traded because he's in a rap group. That's a bad road to go down when you start sending guys packing they are partying in the off season. That's like a majority of the team who go out drinking a couple times a week in the off season.

Yes….we now need a 1st rounder to replace our 4th rounder. I see why you are angry.

Too funny Java….The “one of the best head coaches in the NFL” is still unemployed in the field he wants to be in, and hasn’t sniffed an interview invitation since January 2009. Most overrated coach in NFL history.
