Most accurate kicker in team history. Had a great year in Denver last year. Why doesn’t this guy have a job? He was money for us.

Very dumb reason indeed. I would rather have points than touchbacks. Special teams just needs to tackle.

So you rather have a kicker who can get touchbacks on kickoffs but only makes 70% (being generous) of his FGs over a kicker who makes 85% plus of his FGs just because he doesn't get touchbacks ?

Well, believe it or not, there are actually kickers out there that can do both.

That's a free agent? Well, why haven't we brought him in? Or why didn't the Steelers bring him in? And so on? A lot to of kickers can get touchbacks but very few in this league have a career accuracy rating better than Barth. That's a fact.

The Steelers did make a change, cut Scobee and brought in a new guy.

For a guy who was a 74% career field goal kicker at his alma mater

There are lots of good kickers out there bro. That can do both. That is my point. The only reason Barth succeeded here was Koenen.

Then why are there so many kicking problems in the NFL this season? Is it because teams are more worried about kickers who can kick touchbacks than actual field goals?
