Best thing out of this is Masifilo is apparently in. We could always make another pass thru waiver wire though…

Masifilo is the only “guard” on the Bucs official depth chart and Gilkey is on IR since he cleared waivers.  I think Masifilo sticks barring more roster moves.

Yeah, it looks like he outplayed Edwards to remain on the roster. The one thing I can't figure out is what the * means by Edwards name.

Because I am not a scout or pretend to know how the Buccaneers can make the decisions they do you can take this with a grain of pepper:I'm not impressed at all. Seems to me we cut more needs than we gained and none of the "new" players have any snaps on their new team. And none, unfortunately, were ever highly regarded. As a fan I can only HOPE the Buccaneers know what they're doing and given the track record of Lovie/Licht over the past year and a half there's not much confidence there.

What do you mean by “highly regarded?” Did you think the guys were cut were highly regarded? Reid Fragel was a 7th rounder on his 4th team. Falcons didn't think he was in their top 90. Jason Williams was a 3rd round bust of the Cowboys in 2009, and was on his 4th team. Kadeem Edwards was a 5th round project. Rannell Hall was undrafted. Cameron Brate was undrafted.

It means he has to go thru waivers before becoming a free agent. Not enough accrued seasons.

What I mean is what I typed. None of the players brought in a week from the first day of the season are or were ever highly regarded and IMO they would have to be to warrant cutting players who could play for the team next week if necessary. Look, I hope I'm wrong and we brought in some guys who can really hwelp this team soon but I have my doubts. I did think the DE cut by the Cowboys was worth picking as it's such a position of need. Would have like to have seen Barrett Jones picked a well as he is so versatile on the OL and has a track record. But a HUGE BUT, I'm not a scout and hopefully this all works out. I'm just not all that excited about what I thought might be a very productive day. May I be WRONG all day and night on this!

I see the Titans claimed David Bass, who was from da Bears. Converted DE now 262 LB. Curious we didn’t nab him as a DE….

Depth/ST I think is pretty important for a team like the Bucs lacking both.Only guy that looks to possibly have a bigger role would be K. Brown added to a DE rotaton.  A return specialist is still badly need for this team though.

Barrett Jones is a big name, but he’s pretty much broken down physically. Played through injuries in college and has had 2 injury filled years in St. Louis. What’s interesting, considering he was a jack-of-all trades OL in college is that he was cut partially because he could only play C (and lost to 2 other guys).

I know what you mean. While I don't see anyone that we waived that was worth keeping around, except maybe Hall, I really thought some of our pick-ups would have been from the most recent lists being kicked around, case in point, DE Ben Gardner from the Cowboys. I personally thought he would be a great addition. The one I wasn't surprised with was Kourtnei Brown, as I was surprised to see he was cut.

Well the Bucs loaded up on another OC and QB which is mystifying and I doubt the Bucs head into the season with three offensive centers and three QB’s.  Most teams don’t do that.Bucs keeping four OT's is not surprising given Dotson is injured and the team doesn't want to take chances with a rookie QB being creamed off the edge consistently.Four RB's is not a surprise given Koetter will most likely call a heavy ground game to protect Winston.

That could be it. I almost never watch the Cowboys. (Only when they are playing the Bucs, Redskins, or Ravens.) I liked his numbers from nfl.com though, but yeah, maybe he is the wrong fit for our scheme.

Isn’t Marinelli’s scheme in Dallas conceptually the same or almost the same(4-3) as Lovie’s in Tampa?

Which explains why he got cut there and ignored here.  I am assuming you're talking about Gardner?

Kourtnei Brown – made some splash plays, had problems setting edge consistently would get destroyedJeremiah George - ST playerGriffin - Qb Licht liked when he was in AZJMJ- Special Teams waived as Injured which meant he was gonna go to IR if he cleared like Gilkey, don't know if he can contributeKush- Could be a future starter, had the number 1 job coming in during OTA's but got it taken from him by the new 2nd round pick

One of the KC articles about JMJ that pops upon searching makes it look like he was waived/injured, but pretty sure that's not the case. I think it's just confusing wording.

See that Chickillos been cut for Cash Lyons, know some guys were high on Chick, he’s dropped to around 250 to play LB up in Pitt might be worth a look as an end hereEdit** Also see Doran Grant was cut his 2015 4th round pick skillset screams cover 2 corner

The 3 centers and 3 qbs seems odd with potential pass rushers still out there. And from just a little of hard knocks,  I would have gone a different direction

Perhaps the QB gets stashed on the PS and we sign someone else? Other teams have to make cuts once they make their claims. We again get first dibs on those. I suspect there’s more to come…

It definitely does seem odd. Although, I think Warren and Kush can play guard as well. As far as Kourtnei Brown, yeah, from what I had seen on Hard Knocks, it's a bit of a head scratcher. Bucs also have him listed as a LB which could be a temporary thing, I guess.Either way, I'm anxious to see how this team looks next week.

He was listed as an OLB, but the press release described him as a DE. Plus, he's 6'-4" 250+; we don't use LBs like that.

Right, just saying that currently they have listed as a LB on the site roster. Most likely a temporary thing.Either way, he'll be strictly a situational pass rusher regardless if he has his hand in the dirt or is standing up.
