I really hope this happens…This guy is an underutilized game changer. He, Barber and a second day pick would fix our RB ailments.

I remember him as a combine freak. Ran a 4.37…32 bench reps…40 inch vertical…three-cone at 6.83. Only 25 years old. This would be a nice piece for the offense.

Add in that he was a college QB and took limited reps behind AP and then Cook in Minny,. He’s smart(system assimilation) and not banged up by avoiding all that college wear & tear. I truly think he’s a star in the making.

Until they fix the line, it won’t matter who is running behind it.

This probably won’t go over well, but he’s basically Charles Sims 2.0.

He was killing it this season when the Vikings had him as the feature back. I think it’ll be a great signing and a perfect compliment to Barber. Plus this low key signing and Barbers $600k salary def tells me we’re drafting a RB.

Except, he’s not.

He is not Charles Sims 2.0 . Sims is bigger and not nearly as good a runner as McKinnon. Styles are not similar at all.

Would immediately become the most talented RB the bucs have. Sign me up.

Ok.

This will be very solid if we draft a RB within first 4 rounds. He allows us to be a bit flexible in what kind of RB we want to target as well. McKinnon has been overhyped on this board at times, but what I like about him is he’s a good compliment to any RB

He was my choice all along, then add k Johnson and martez Carter in draft
Johnson
McKinnon
Barber
Carter
Back field fixed, young ,versatile and talentedPlease wait… -
Eh can’t say I know enough about the dude if he’s a good enough runner or if he’s even a feature back. I do remember him being on the roster when ap was constantly injured in minny the last 3-4 years. Which makes me think why the hell didnt he take the reigns then idk hopefully hes good i guess. Me personally i still would draft a guy and barber let them all compete fairly not just give this guy a starting spot if signed just my opinion tho.

He’s not a feature back, but he’s a solid NFL RB that can do a lot of things well. He’s a better all-around RB than both Barber and Sims.
Please wait… -
He can run in a straight line without frantically jump cutting which seemed to be too much of a hurdle for Chuck Sims to handle
Please wait… -
Hopefully they can get him here. Excellent player, especially in the screen game. Perfect fit and is exactly what Koetter wanted to Sims to be all along.

Would be an upgrade over what we have but we still would need to draft a RB early
Please wait… -
Great #2 back. Can do everything you ask him to do and can carry a load for a stretch of games. An upgrade over Sims and better than Dion Lewis. If Bucs sign him as the #1 guy I’d be upset because he is not big enough to take on carries for 16+ games. But I’m assuming we’re going to use him correctly as a 2.

As many others have already said, McKinnon, Drafted RB, Barber would turn our pathetic RB room to something potentially special.
Then maybe sign Sitton (LG) and Jenson (C)? Ali back to RG? Oooooooo baby!

HIM
BARBER
SCARBOROUGHPlease wait… -
McKinnon, Barber an UDFA/late round pick is plenty
Please wait… -
anyone we would bring in here would be an upgrade to Charles Sims
Please wait… -
My only concern with him is his stated desire to be the guy somewhere. If he’s fine with being a #2 in a committee role then bring him in ASAP.

McKinnon looking for 6-7 mil per.
Buyer beware. That’s big money for a back.Said to be a hot commodity right now with 9ers looking to be the “team to watch”

That’s a big NOPE then. I like the guy and all but that’s big money.

Ya, not for that $$$

whats Hyde asking for if McKinnon is asking for 7mil?

He’s averaged 3.4 and 3.8 yards per carry the last two years in a backup role. I don’t understand the infatuation?

Yea McKinnon is a big pile of Meh.

Disagree ^

Jus read Bucs out on McKinnon, too much money?
Please wait…-
Yeah it seems like his price tag is way too high, reports say he will end up with a Top 5 RB contract.

McKinnon would do serious damage in this offense. At this point he’s a must sign. The RB FA board is depleted, we have money, let’s go.
We can still walk out of FA addressing some serious needs with very capable-viable players, McKinnon being one.

Dalvin Cook averaged 4.8 yards per carry in the same offense McKinnon averaged 3.8 yards per carry in. He is NOT a good player. Must sign? Just stop.
DRAFT a RB!
Please wait…-
I would argue he IS a good football player, as a playmaker in space and especially out of the backfield as a receiver. But he is hasn’t shown he is a good/consistent runner which is kinda what we need especially with that price tag.
I feel like he’d give us what we always wanted Charles Simms to give us, maybe with the potential of finally breaking out as a runner.
I’d rather find a back in the draft, though our drafting history isn’t good, and I WANT to hope Peyton Barber turns the corner, but he isn’t the type of playmaker we’d want for best case scenario.
So at this point who the F knows. We do need two more running backs at least, one potential starter.

Fantastic. Shut it down

7.5 Mil a year…. I liked him but not for that price.

Again, not worried about RB at all.
The draft is really deep at RB this year. Take two (one early-ish and another late) to add to Barber and we’re good.
Get Jenson, move Ali back to RG, and Sitton in FA or draft a LG. Profit.
