Latest report is that Houston has talked with nearly a third of the league about trading for him. Writers, any chance the Bucs are in on him?

I know we’d have to renounce JPP or include him in any deal to make the cap math work and probably throw in more assets on top of at least one premium draft pick, but it might be worth it… seems to me he would be a fit for the new defense for sure and he’s on the right side of 30, unlike JPP.

If this is true, (and I’m not one to normally say this), we should be looking really, really hard to sell off some of the farm to get this guy.

Would love to add Clowney to the team but no chance this team makes that move. They are all in on Noah Spence, Nassib, and Barrett. And I hope they are right about that group.

Barrett should mesh at a high level. He gets a lot out of his reps.

This. Not only that the guy was hyped up as the next best thing and has yet to track double digits in sacks. Plus Houston isn’t really a contender with him. I don’t see the Bucs becoming one with him either. Pass.

Considering Clowney cannot sign an extension as he did not sign the franchise tag prior to the deadline and the Texans have like $100 million in cap space next season. The Texans best option is to have Clowney play out the year and franchise him again. Thus, I have hard time seeing the Texans trading Clowney for any less than a 1st.

Has he ever played a full season, or even played up to the hype that he had coming out of college?

If there’s any guy that they can afford and be somewhat realistic it would be Tunsil. Williams and Clowney are completely unrealistic.
