Here’s more from today’s memo, which also says the team responsible for a canceled game because of an outbreak among unvaccinated players/staff will be responsible for financial losses and subject to potential discipline from the commissioner.

since all games were rescheduled in 2020, find it hard to believe they will have an issue in 2021 with more and more people not caring as much about it.

what’s interesting. Was at a wedding recently, the individual who was vaccinated got covid and spread to 25 others.

so the vaccine doesn’t prevent covid, just deadly covid.

that being said, if they test as much as they did last year, still likely individuals will have covid. I’m thinking again, since more and more people dont care anymore, it wont get tested as much.

cancelled games weren’t an issue last year, likely a non issue in 2021.

NFL is preparing for the COVID rate to go way up this fall

The death rate from COVID-19 in the U.S. is rising steadily for the first time in months as the nation grapples with a renewed burst of cases in what’s become “a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday.

The seven-day average of new cases has increased by nearly 70% to almost 30,000 per day; hospitalizations are up 36%. And deaths from the virus have risen steadily in recent days, reversing a months-long downward trend that began in mid-January.

“There is a clear message that is coming through: This is becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the CDC’s director, said at a Friday briefing of the White House COVID-19 Response Team. “Our biggest concern is we are going to continue to see preventable cases, hospitalizations and sadly deaths among the unvaccinated.”

More than 99% of recent deaths were among the unvaccinated, while Walensky noted on Friday that unvaccinated people accounted for over 97% of hospitalizations.

All players that WANT the vaccine have had access to taking it. If they don’t care about taking a vaccine and the potential risk of catching COVID, then why should anyone else?

Also, an outbreak can happen among vaccinated or non-vaccinated people, this is proven.

So if a game has to be cancelled and can’t be rescheduled, because of an outbreak among vaccinated players/staff, then everyone gets paid still? No penalties?

No, this is not the way it should be. The way it should be is to play the fucking games as scheduled. These guys are in the best shape of their lives. They are asymptomatic and they are NOT going to die from this. Matter of fact, 99.6% of the people who contract COVID are not going to die.

my argument isn’t that the vaccine isn’t safe, it’s that it should be a choice..

let me see who i’m dealing with here. Answer these questions with a yes or no

      1. Is the vaccine likely safe?
      2. Was covid created in a lab?
      3. Should an individual be able to make choices in life?
      4. Should the government decide how we live our life?
      5. Under the age of 50, is driving a car more dangerous than covid?

Honestly, I’m confused why people are opposed to getting it. I got my second shot two days ago and had zero side effects…magnets don’t even stick to me lol. I’m terrified of needles and don’t like going to the Dr. The reality is that getting the vaccine isn’t just about my life, it’s about the lives of everyone I come across. Just bc you don’t think Covid is dangerous to you, doesn’t mean you can’t give it to someone else and risk their life. We’ve had to get certain vaccines to go to elementary school, middle, high, and college..and for the vast majority there’s been little opposition…so why is this one different? If people just got the free vaccine, we wouldn’t have to worry about this NFL rule or all the restrictions in society. It’s funny that people are saying it’s being politicized, yet the former “president” so desperately wants credit for making the vaccine. FYI I’m an Independent, so could careless about stupid Republican or Democratic platforms. Just find it laughable that an NFL rule turns into a Rep vs Dem thing…all while not acknowledging that the NFL is a private entity. If a player doesn’t want to get vaccinated, then let them go get a different job. It’s that simple

      1. If under the age of 50, you are more likely to die of a car accident than you are covid

Okay, I can’t stand this stupidity.

        1. Let’s go over a few thing: a) Per official stats 10.5% of Americans have covid-19. These stats include multiple cases with the same person. b) The chance you die from this disease is once per infection. c) How many times is an average person in a car, bus, bike, motorcycle, walking in a day, much less a year (yes, you don’t have to be in a car to be in a car accident)? Each trip to each place is a chance to die. If 9 times the amount of people go and take a trip somewhere and do this 320+ days per year. Usually taking at least two trips each day (back and forth from work, back and forth for groceries.) OF COURSE IT’S HIGHER! The risk alone is a 1000s of times more likely.

        2. Yes, and when I got the vaccine they had a slideshow demonstration telling me it was only 94% effective in getting the virus. I like those odds.

        3. The flu doesn’t kill at nearly the rate covid-19 does. Also it’s a pain because you have to get it every year.

        4. Our current flu is in fact the Spanish flu. Shows how much you know. What happened is that a third of the earth’s population died. The population was also much smaller than it is today. More isolated the people? The harder it is to spread. It started mutating in an attempt to reach more people. It ended up mutating to a much weaker strand H1N1 influenza. You all seem to try and educate yourself and only educate yourself on what you want to hear and not truth.

Trump was a democrat his whole life. Most billionaires are.

He ran as a republican but if you think his foreign policy was republican, it was anything but that.

what i think most liked about Trump, aside from his economic growth for all income levels, was that he was independent. Sure he had an R after his name, but just think about where he came from and how he rose to become President. It wasn’t because he was a republican politician.

Okay, I can’t hold it in anymore, it’s time for a rant. This Covid situation has been going on for way too long. Since March of last year…our social lives were ruined, we missed out on some really great vacations, we became new season ticket holders on January 1st and only got to one Bucs home game during a Super Bowl winning season, we wore a mask [and rubber gloves at times] everywhere we went, we wiped down anything that entered our house with anti-virus anti-bacterial wipes. We finally started coming out of this a few months ago, got vaccinated, and began venturing out again.

Millions of people around the world have lost their lives to Covid. A friend of ours in Virginia didn’t believe in the virus, took no precautions, and died from Covid. He was just 55 years old and left behind a young wife and 3 preteen boys to fend for themselves. There are thousands and thousands of stories just like that. Millions of peoples’ lives have been affected. Pharmaceutical companies around the world busted their asses to develop effective Covid vaccines in record time.

Over the past several months, much has been accomplished in the effort to turn the corner and beat Covid. We were on our way to getting back to normal life. Now this Delta variant comes along. People who have been vaccinated have largely been unaffected. Almost everyone who’s been hospitalized has been unvaccinated. You can not only die a horrible death from Covid, but if you manage to survive it, you run the risk of having serious long-term health problems.

I can’t imagine why anyone is unwilling to get the vaccine. Maybe there are rare exceptions for pre-existing health conditions, sure. But if not for yourself, get it for your family, get it for your friends, get it for your fellow Americans, get it for the rest of humanity. What’s the matter, you afraid of needles, or a little boo-boo on your arm? If you don’t get vaccinated knowing what’s at stake, you’re about as dumb as a rock. Use some fucking common sense if you have any at all. You’re ruining life for the rest of us. We need to stop this virus from spreading and gaining momentum again. Go ahead, call me a snowflake, whatever dude. At least I can look myself in the mirror and say I’ve done my part to help rid us of this insidious virus.

When everyone has access to the vaccine, you are no longer taking it to “save others lives.” If you want to take it for yourself and your health then great. The narrative that it protects others is false. If they have the vaccine, they are protected and don’t need you trying to do so.

In the history of mankind, never before has it been said that a vaccine was to protect others. You don’t take a measles vaccine to protect others, you take it do you don’t catch measles. Same with a flu shot, a chicken pox vaccine, and any other vaccine.

Holy fuck… you take vaccines for yourself and those around you.

That’s why people get pissed when parents won’t vaccinate their kids. It doesn’t just affect you it affects everyone because

Not everyone can get a vaccine due to age, health, etc.

Bunch of selfish entitled little shots.

Everyone is about you, yet you claim to be about “country”.

Funny… how people wrap themselves up in the flag but won’t do anything to help the greater good because… You’re selfish

That’s 100% bullshit. You take a vaccine to protect yourself. Believe you’re doing some super noble act all you want, but you’re not.

Even if it were true, I don’t need anyone to worry about me and my family but me. And if you think others or the government really give a shit about you, you’re very gullible.

The non vaccinated (by choice) are the very ones that are ruining our opportunity to get back to normal. You are the same ones that have zero compassion for the 600k-plus that have died from Covid. The sad thing is that the same people that claim that they don’t want the government telling them what to do….is that if Trump told you to get vaccinated, you would do it. Sorry but yes you are selfish….just suck it up get your free vaccine, so we can ALL get back to regular social interactions

You do realize every other country is going through the same thing we are in that a sizable portion of the population is fighting the forcing of the vaccine. You won’t see it on the entertainment news such as cnn, msnbc, or Fox but do some research

Under the age of 50, you’re more likely to die in a car accident. Vaccine doesn’t prevent covid, just means you’re less likely to die which is the case anyway. Additionally, those that got it in March will need a booster soon. Why are we playing with ourselves here? 4. The spanish flu died out without a vaccine

The Spanish Flu wasn’t man-made via gain-of-function experiments.

As for the NFL requiring vaccinations, then you have to look at the CBA. If it’s in the contract, then there’s it needs to be adhered to by the employees. The problem that the NFL will run into is that they are dictating something that only a person’s doctor should have over the matter because the doctor is the most medical expert to that specific individual. Some individuals may have other health concerns that a doctor will recommend that the individual not take the vaccine.

The NFL could be violating the health privacy of an individual and the individual’s doctor via HIPAA.

Also, we now know that even if an individual is vaccinated, then an individual can still contract COVID. That makes testing positive for COVID moot regardless if one is vaccinated or not. We are still in the process of discovering all the potential side effects of each type of vaccine that was not present before in rapid testing stages to get an emergency approval.

This act by the NFL truly is a chilling act. No one should know if you received the vaccination or not as it is protected by HIPAA. But it also does not make sense because the vaccinated are supposed to be immune from contracting COVID. Apparently, that isn’t the case. See TX democrats politicians fleeing the state of TX to avoid doing the job they were voted in to do. All of them were vaccinated, but still tested positive for COVID. They passed it onto the Speaker of the House’s staff and forced the VP to get tested on a Sunday.

so the vaccine doesn’t prevent covid, just deadly covid.

      The 25 others were vaccinated?

We may have to wear masks again, which totally sucks. If its because the Delta Variant is crossing over to vaccinated people, I don’t have a problem with that. I’ll do what’s necessary. If I have to wear a mask because I have to protect people who refuse to get vaccinated, I have a big problem with that. Then people making their own personal choice is affecting me.

So you are equating the chance of having long term effects or death from Covid and the chance of having long term effects or death from the vaccine? You think the Vaccine is basically the same as Covid? j

You are part of the problem, dude. People are getting the vaccine in secret now, because they are afraid of the backlash from antivaxer family members. Is that just “making your own choice” when you are afraid of what your family members think of you for trying to protect yourself from the virus? Here are some facts for you. Please stop spreading falsehoods. You are only making the problem worse.

Over 339 million vaccine doses were given to 187.2 million people in the US as of July 19, 2021. The vaccines have been proven to be safe and effective. Vaccination is happening under the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S. history.

Between December 2020 and July 19th, 2021, VAERS received 6,207 reports of death (0.0018% of doses) among people who got a vaccine, but this does not mean the vaccine caused these deaths. Doctors and safety monitors carefully review the details of each case to see if it might be linked to the vaccine. There are three deaths that appear to be linked to blood clots that occurred after people got the J&J vaccine. Since we now know how to correctly treat people who develop these blood clots, future deaths related to this very rare side effect can be prevented.

After careful review of the additional data, doctors have decided that there is no evidence at all that the vaccines contributed to the other patient deaths. Nonetheless, the CDC and FDA will continue to investigate every single report of death (and other adverse events) reported to VAERS.

By way of comparison, getting COVID-19 while unvaccinated poses a grave risk; as of July 23, 2021, more than 610,000 deaths have been attributed to the virus in the US alone. Not everyone who dies while having COVID is counted towards this total. Suppose someone who tested positive for COVID-19 was killed in a car accident. The car accident would be the cause of death. This person would be counted as having “died with” COVID, not as having “died of” COVID.

      Facts:

1 – under the age of 50, you are more likely to die in a car accident than covid
2 – If you get the vaccine, you can still get Covid but unlikely to have harsh side effects
3 – The average covid death was with somebody with underlying conditions, 78 years old, and obese

my question to you is why the disdain for the unvaccinated? You’re democrat government is the one taking away your freedom.

knowing all the facts about covid, how can you not say it was politicized at the state government levels? and when you wake up to that fact, how the heck could you think your elected officials have your best interest at heart.

the typical unvaccinated equates covid with a worse flu. So would you be treating those without a flu shot with such hate? Look at the numbers and not just your news rhetoric.

I bet you all drive drunk. Punch yourself in the face already. I hate you anti-vax morons. I don’t believe in God but what would he/she/them/they do regarding the shot? How stupid can you people get? Facts:

1 – under the age of 50, you are more likely to die in a car accident than covid
2 – If you get the vaccine, you can still get Covid but unlikely to have harsh side effects
3 – The average covid death was with somebody with underlying conditions, 78 years old, and obese

“1. Let’s go over a few thing: a) Per official stats 10.5% of Americans had covid-19. The risk alone is a 1000s of times more likely.”

Where on earth did you get the stats of item B – once per infection?

80% of the people that died were 65 and over. Lower that to age 45 and your talking 97% of the population. Ages 1 to 15 is 157 people, so tell me, are children at risk and should be vaccinated or even wearing mask?

“Where on earth did you get the stats of item B – once per infection?”

It’s binary. You die or you won’t die once per infection. It’s not 7 random times you might die during the illness. Same with if you drive. You die or you don’t die each time you get on the road. Every trip is like getting covid-19 again. If people were getting it 700-1400-3000 times per year? Yeah it would be a fair comparison. But it isn’t the opportunities to die driving are far far far higher than the infections so far.

The delta variant is a natural mutation from what I’ve read…

Just as most colds mutate and that’s why it’s hard to predict which flu shot to get seasonally… or rather which flu shot the CDC recommends.

I just had such a nasty cold that I thought it was the delta variant. Got a covid test even though I’m vaccinated. Came back negative so… if that wasn’t covid… man. It put me on my ass for 4 days. I saw God over the weekend

Well colds are coming back with a vengeance. I also got tested (negative) because I was attending a family gathering and had a cold, and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t bringing Covid with me. Its the first time I have ever gotten tested.

Can’t wait for school to start (sarcasm). That’s going to be a shit show, Garden variety illnesses will be running rampant, but now we have to worry whether they really have Covid. Being sick is not the same as it used to be, even when its just a cold. Everybody is on guard. Some will wear masks, some won’t be wearing masks. Kids won’t understand why some are wearing masks and others aren’t.

I have an honest question. Maybe I’m missing something here. The shot from what I understand doesn’t prevent people from catching COVID or the spread. It only stimulates the immune system to lessen it’s affects. So my question is why are all the people who have received the shot so concerned with the people who have not received the shot?

      • mgchat76

        Participant

Jed, that is a fair question. One reason is because it is going to cause our healthcare system to collapse. I work at a hospital in Denver. In the past 3 days we have accepted pts from Kansas, OK, and the eastern coast of Texas as transfers to our hospitals because they couldn’t find an empty bed within their own states. We turned several others away due to limited ICU bed availability here. One of the ones we did take had to wait 3 days after being accepted before the medical transport could move them because they were backed up with other patients in similar situations. Hospitals are much more understaffed now compared to when the pandemic started, and many more will leave the profession due to the frustration with anti-vaxxers causing this new surge.

For the record, I’m not in favor of mandatory vaccinations. I am in favor of those that refuse without a legitimate medical or religious exemption having to sign a waiver stating they will not seek hospitalization if they become infected. With free will comes responsibility and consequences.

Jed, that’s a good question. I struggle with whether I should wear a mask just for the benefit of those who are being buttheads. Why should we care about them? Why not just let them get sick and die and call it the Darwin effect? They don’t care about me or my family, only themselves.

But aren’t people tired of this virus yet? This will be the third school year impacted by Covid. Three school years. The Spring of 2020 is when everybody was sent home. The entire 2020-21 school year was disrupted. Now the 2021 school year will begin with kids and their parents having to decide whether to mask or not. Haven’t they had enough of this yet? We need to beat this thing, and its taking a lot longer because people are being selfish. There is no reason not to get vaccinated. Its insanity all this antivaxer bullshit that’s going on. What is wrong with people?

So please, to everybody, get vaccinated. But I still don’t know if I’ll wear a mask when I go back to school.

If you want honest and reliable information, this is who you want to get it from.“The vaccines are tested to prevent disease and death as their principal endpoints and reduction in severity of disease. They were not tested or characterized to reduce infection, replication or transmission. They’re relatively poor at protecting from transmission, in the range of about 50% for that.” According to him.

It’s better that you should understand the term–Antibody-Dependent Enhancement aka ADE.

The Antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE), sometimes less precisely called immune enhancement or disease enhancement, is a phenomenon in which binding of a virus to suboptimal antibodies enhances its entry into host cells, followed by its replication.[1][2] ADE may cause enhanced respiratory disease and acute lung injury after respiratory virus infection (ERD) with symptoms of monocytic infiltration and an excess of eosinophils in respiratory tract.[3] ADE along with type 2 T helper cell-dependent mechanisms may contribute to a development of the vaccine associated disease enhancement (VADE), which is not limited to respiratory disease.

A new data suggests that fully vaccinated individuals are not just contracting COVID, but could be carrying higher levels of virus than previously understood, facilitating spread, my NBC News colleagues are reporting. New indoor masking guidance expected today.

For several months, He warned the risk of this and he also claimed that instead of relying on the flawed vaccines, Doctors should use drugs such as Ivermectin.

Information about the inventor of the mRNA technology used in certain COVID-19 vaccines was removed from the online encyclopedia site Wikipedia after he publicly warned against giving the experimental gene therapy vaccines to young people and that there was insufficient information about the injections to give informed consent. . . .

On June 10, 2021, Dr. Malone joined biologist Bret Weinstein, Ph.D, on the Dark Horse Podcast, where Malone raised numerous safety concerns about Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, both of which use mRNA technology. He warned about future autoimmune issues caused by the spike proteins within the mRNA injections.

Malone also stated that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was aware that the spike proteins were “biologically active and could travel from the injection site and cause adverse events, and that the spike protein, if biologically active, is very dangerous.”

YouTube swiftly moved to censor clips from the three-hour podcast interview.

Do you think the majority of people refusing the vaccine because it was rushed to market, or are worried about long term side effects really live clean lifestyles otherwise? I doubt it. I think most of them are smoking, drinking, and eating fried chicken while they sit there watching Tucker Carlson.

The shear level of ignorance in this thread is amazing. I don’t even know why I bother with this, since idiots will come back with their government propaganda, but hey, I love an adventure. First and foremost, the Delta variant is less deadly, by multiples, than the original variant. In fact, it is around or less than, the flu. Oh yes…the flu. What happened to the flu? Oh, well, you see, the PCR test that was approved and used for testing turns out to be so inaccurate that it is losing it’s EUA at the end of the year (Dec 31st for those confused about that). Why? Because it 1) pops positive for many people who don’t have it, or who only have some exposure to COVID, and 2) if you have Influenza, you’ll test positive. Amazing that. Wonder how many people tested positive for COVID but actually had the flu? Makes you wonder. They’ve known about the accuracy issues of this test since summer last year.

Looking at the latest COVID data, sure, people are spreading Delta around, as it’s much more contagious. But the deaths are…34 in the last week in Florida (oh, that DeathSantis, killing them by the thousands…oh…wait). The average is back down to 5 for the 7 day period. As of the data from yesterday, 44 more people died…in the whole US. Yes, 575 died the day before. But the trend of deaths popped up and has stabilized. Of course, that’s if you trust all of these deaths are because of COVID. Of the over 600K deaths in the US, nearly 9% were actually from blunt force trauma. The reality is, due to financial incentives, any one testing positive for COVID, or suspected of having COVID has been deemed a COVID death. The reality is, less than a quarter of all deaths are actually due, at least in part, to COVID. The CDC even admitted as much.

Then there’s the vaccine. An experimental set of mRNA vaccines that we have no long term data on, that has, at least since this week, killed around 12,000 in the US and nearly 20,000 in the EU. It’s caused more than 400,000 reactions in the US, with a significant amount being severe. In the EU, the reactions are closing in on 2 million. What’s worse, is that people who are vaccinated appear to be spreading Delta extensively. Of course, with real science, it’s known that respiratory viruses get less fatal over time as they change their code to allow the host to survive, since the virus needs the host to live to replicate and spread. This will likely turn into common cold levels with the next variation and that’s what we’ll be left with…another coronavirus that causes the common cold.

Oh and the whole science thing really irks me, as I studied to be one in high school (wanted to work on Tokamak fusion reactors like the one in Princeton back then) and ended up as an Engineer, so I can spot the scientifically illiterate when I see it. Science is never settled. Anyone saying it is, is a dictator at heart (the key part being dic). Science is also hugely driven by grant funding. If everyone passing out money wants certain things looked at and will stop funding you if your data doesn’t quite jive with what you’re producing, then the money will dry up. If you can’t keep that in mind and look deeper into data and determine which scientists are driven by the data versus those driven by the grants, then you really shouldn’t speak about stuff you don’t know, because the article you’re leaking may be bought and paid for by the host of governments and liberal billionaires who poor boatloads of money into the science community. There’s plenty of honest science out there, but you can’t tell unless you look at the data and know what you are reading.

Oh, and masks don’t work. You can’t filter <10um aerosols with a filter membrane whose pores are >10um. That’s actual science and Engineering. I have test equipment that has to remove 95%+ of water vapor from air lines for the pneumatic equipment in them. The filter is practically solid, but allows air, under pressure, to pass through it where it is regulated back up to the minimum pressure required. If I stuffed a surgical mask into it, things would be really bad. So know, they won’t protect you or anyone else. Remember, this all started when they thought it was spread by large droplets, only to find last August that it was spread by aerosol (one paper deduced that the core transmission vector was aerosols in the <2.5um range that can hang in the air for hours). The 6 foot rule was part of this (droplets wouldn’t typically travel more than 6ft). Aerosols, especially sub 2.5um ones, aren’t stopped by either measure, at all. This is why masks didn’t work in either the summer or winter outbreaks last year, or the summer Delta outbreak this year. They don’t work. If they did work…they’d, you know, WORK. Now I’m going back to reading about the Bucs and ignoring all the people who think they are smart and know what they are talking about, but don’t.

It amazes me how people listen to everything the government puts out like it’s Gospel, and don’t wonder why contrary information keeps getting censored. I mean…seriously. The reality is Progressives tend to be quite gullible and seem to have a desire to make everyone else do what they think is right. Most probably don’t even realize that there are studies (good ones) that show Ivermectin will actually eliminate the virus in most people in a 24 hour period. It’s not allowed here because the vaccines can only be on the EUA if no other drug treatment is available. The billions of dollars involved there goes up in smoke if a cheap drug can fix the issue without the need for the experimental vaccines. Knowing this information makes me a “whack job” though in their circles. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

Why get the vaccine for a disease that 99.74% of people survive, that is being displaced by a variant that 99.92% survive? Especially when the companies that have produced these vaccines have been found guilty of major criminal acts on multiple occasions, and have immunity against lawsuits should the experimental vaccine cause issues. Sorry, but I wouldn’t get it even if I hadn’t had COVID already. And I’m not an anti-vaxxer, as I have no issues with getting other, long term proven vaccines. Just read the other day about a nurse who got it, and a few days later had to have her legs amputated and was waiting to see if her hands would have to go as well. It’s like the Lotto with this vaccine. The odds of you having a severe reaction may not be very high, but there’s still a good chance you will get a reaction that could be bad, severe, or even deadly. The people who needed it, already have it (elderly).

No. There are a number of studies from various countries on this. They all seem to point the same. It’s mostly only certain countries, like here, where these types of treatments get the whitewash. Again, why? Lots and lots of money.

        https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33278625/

One of many. Just remember, if the FDA allows these treatments, the EUA goes away for the vaccines. Billions of dollars. Can’t have that. There are countries in certain areas of Africa and other nations where COVID hasn’t been much of anything. These places have HCQ as an over the counter med for malaria prevention (you need zinc in your body and supplements for HCQ to actually work). Last time I checked, there were around 100 plus studies on HCQ working for early and prophylactic treatment. But, it would tip the apple cart. Follow the money.

And? Those that don’t have it clearly either don’t worry about COVID, or believe that the shot isn’t worth the risks. The vaccine doesn’t prevent you from getting COVID. It’s purpose is to prepare your immune system to fight it faster so it doesn’t cause major symptoms. Plus, most people who work with the elderly in facilities have the vaccine. So the overall chances of spread are severely diminished. And, once again, we are talking about a disease that almost all who get it survive. This is the bubonic plague, or even Sars 1 which was deadlier (9% overall with greater than 50% amongst 60+). It’s certainly not Ebola.

The Delta variant is even less deadly in the general population, especially with so many seniors vaccinated (a CFR of 0.2 versus 1.9%, and CFR is always higher than the actual rate).

If you are vaccinated you have a 99.999% of survival. The unvaccinated have 25X higher chance of dying.

That’s cases, and it’s mostly younger people, which is good, since their survival rate is ridiculously high and spreading it around like this amongst the young will quickly burn the disease out of the deadlier versions.

This is still all for a disease with a CFR of 1.9% for the original version, and 0.2% for the Delta. Smallpox is estimated to be around 30%. SARS was around 10% and MERS around 34%. The flu ranges from around 0.1-0.2%.

True? Getting the vaccine gives one a weaker version of the virus? So if I have already had Covid I need to get it again? Correct? and getting it again won’t prevent me from getting infected a third time. Correct? JMO but that sounds absurdly ridiculous. Convince me otherwise.

I guess I missed your answer to my question, Runole. What is the ulterior motive the “overlords” have in telling people to get the vaccine?

      $$$’s for Big Pharma?

Here’s a crazy theory. A disease is ravaging the world, and they invented vaccines to fight that disease. Now people need to get the vaccine to help slow the disease. I know that sounds crazy, but just maybe that’s what happened.

Therapeutics don’t increase the survival rate from the virus? Didn’t 45 survive with just therapeutics? Also, how many deaths due to the use of Hydroxy? Interesting theory but I still say Big Pharma is making billions off of a virus with such a high survival rate. Heck, I had Covid with age and pre-existing conditions. Just took Zinc, B,C and D vitamins along with open air sunlight. Would have taken Hydroxy if it had been available. Big Pharma, FDA, CDC, and DC wouldn’t allow it?

Tested for antibodies and tested positive(blood test)5 months later. How on earth is this possible without Big Pharma’s vaccine? For the record I am not anti-vaccine if one has not had Covid or the Variant and is unvaccinated, but it still should be a choice not a mandate with threat filled consequences.
Oh and close friends daughter Tampa(30 ish) caught the Variant. DOING FINE!

More people visit Florida on vacation over the summer and to see transplant family members due the kids being out of school. Move of a chance to spread as they are coming from all around. Also illegals tend to live in TX and FL as they can find work. Letting them into the country COVID positive to help spread the virus is not helping the cause.

Now let’s get back to this. I still have no reply from any of you Covid experts explaining this CNN report to us. If this is true why should people feel the need to get the vaccine? This is what your favorite channel is reporting to the people.

      Vac survival 99.999%

      So that’s 0.001 X 25 = 0.025

      Unvac survival 99.999 – 0.025 = 99.97%

      California

California is the most visited state in the United States. The state’s vast area is home to various vibrant cities, amusement parks, beaches and natural wonders that are popular among travelers from America and the rest of the world. Both Los Angeles and San Francisco are considered Gateway Cities, and are home to some of the most popular and recognizable tourist spots in the country. These include the Golden Gate Bridge, Disneyland, and Hollywood. Additionally, some of the national parks located in California are also significant tourist destinations. For example, Yosemite National Park in Northern California is well know for its tall mountains, valleys, and beautiful waterfalls.

This is the third year that school has been impacted by Covid. 19-20 got a hole blown in it. If 202-21 was a car, the insurance company would have declared it a total loss. Now the 21-22 has a lot of question marks about how that’s going to go. All because of Covid. So a kid who entered middle school in 2019 will pretty much have his or her whole middle school experience corrupted by Covid. Rising Juniors in high school have not yet known what a normal school year is like. A kid who started Kindergarten in 2019 is now going into 2nd grade having to try to understand why some kids are wearing masks and having to worry about getting quarantined. Think about what impact that is going to have on those kids lives, and we have the power to get back to something resembling normal if more people would get the vaccine.

We have got to beat this disease. Please, I’m begging you guys, stop posting this bullshit about politics and about how vaccines don’t matter, don’t work or whatever.
Its all bullshit. These vaccines are critical. Lets put politics aside so we can beat this disease. Just go get your vaccine, and tell others to get it. Have the kids get the vaccine if they are 12 or more, and as soon as possible if they are under 12. The kids deserve a normal life, and they aren’t getting it.

      dude…face palm.

just 151 USA individuals between the age of 1 and 15 died since covid began. This is straight from the CDC website. What this number doesn’t include is any underlying conditions such as cancer, etc. Id be interested to know how many of those kids were healthy.

With that being said, more kids have died in cars and from burning buildings in the last 18 months that that small number.

why are kids being forced to wear mask? To protect the teachers?

the teachers that are at risk (age 65 up) have pensions and quite frankly can retire if they are not willing to take the risk.

Then you can argue about what should be required and what should be choice and how the Democrats are trying to take over and how Fauci secretly is in kahoots with China. Whatever you want.

Just maybe some of the reason that Covid hasn’t killed as many people in the US as it has in India or Brazil is because we have instituted the mask mandates and people have gotten the vaccine. But Covid is very real, dangerous and still going strong. Just ask somebody who works in a hospital.

BTW have they ever released how a perfectly healthy Jacob Clynick (13 years old) died 3 days after getting his 2nd Covid vaccine?

And according to Obituaries In Saginaw – Michigan’s obituary is scheduled to take place on June 16, 2021, where his family members and close friends are invited. His demise has not just shocked millions of people and medical representatives but also made the entire medical team research more on the vaccine side effects.<br />
He complained of a stomach ache on June 15 and went to bed, where he died in his sleep, Burages said.

An autopsy was performed but Jacob’s official cause of death has yet to be determined.

It comes amid a growing international debate over whether children should be vaccinated against coronavirus after a CDC advisory group said there is a ‘likely link’ between cases of heart inflammation in adolescents and young adults, and the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

The video of the anti-vaxxer is pretty funny, but if you scroll to the thread you’ll see the real strategy employed by this alt-right disinformation campaign…

They pay failed actors and comedians to attend these rallies and pose as supporters or even experts.

This is a strategy that Trump has used for years.

Laura Boebert, maybe the dumbest human being on earth, was found through these channels and its how she rose to fame from nothing.

One of the best quotes from the interview is, paraphrasing, “you think you’re all open minded by you’re all reading and saying the same thing”.

      Calling others sheep…

It’s quite frightening the amount if disinformation folks on the right are falling for… yet yelling that others are the problem.

Call your enemy that which you are… a fascist technique used by Hitler.

      Very very frightening

I’m tired of seeing these survival rate numbers like they are the end-all-be-all of what’s going on. Take a look at hospitalization numbers, and the ripple effect that has on healthcare overall. As I said above, I work for a hospital system in Denver and we have been getting calls over the last week from Kansas, OK, Texas, and Missouri who are looking for open beds to send their patients to because they are beyond capacity within their own and neighboring states. Imagine flying a patient over 1K miles to find an ICU bed so they have a chance at living. The transfers haven’t all been for COVID related illnesses, either. Their beds are full of COVID patients, so there’s no room for the stroke, MI, sepsis, trauma patients, either. The healthcare workforce is shrinking as providers burn out and wonder why they’re the only ones who care.

If you don’t trust the vaccine, then don’t get it. Just don’t come to the ER if you are sick with COVID and ruin the healthcare infrastructure for the rest of us.

Most people who are uninsured use the ER as their primary care because they know there are Federal programs in place to assist with payment. Even illegals can deliver at the hospital using a Federal program. They even get 3 months of medical care on the house after the birth. By law the ER is not allowed to ask someone if they can pay the bill or not. They are required to treat the patient.

Everyone spread the word to let uninsured people with COVID know they can go to any PCP and their medical bills are covered under the CARES Act. This might help take some of the burden off the ER.

Which is a core tenet of why people want a single payer system.

But for many that is crazy socialism, so they’d rather have this bastardized version of Obamacare that both sides aren’t in love with…

      But that is tangent.

Instead of mandating the vaccine, they need to require the vaccine to allow service to the ICU. I think that is a fair compromise

that is the point i am trying to make.

Children should not be wearing mask or even be thought of getting the flu shot. They will move towards that eventually as right now, not under the age of 12.

what i want is people to not just be blindly on the republican or democrat side and to think about what is right. and what is right is that the virus has been politicized throughout 2020 and now they are doubling down in 2021. Children should be left alone. As a matter of fact, anyone that isn’t obese and under the age of 45 should be left alone. I think most sensible people are zoning them out but there are those that blindly believe their government or think that CNN/FOX/MSNBC isn’t biased that will follow their marching orders and i think it’s a good size of the population, hence nobody researching facts and going off of emotion.

Just look a few members on this board, saying “Shut up and get vaccinated. Dont ask questions. Do as your told by government. They haven’t mislead us in the past and aren’t doing it now.”

i’m no conspiracy theorist. I just think the government tends to be incompetent so i dont mix politics with my health.

Saw Microsoft is requiring EEs to be vaccinated. Vanguard is giving vaccinated EEs $1,000 each. Hopefully more and more organizations and companies will follow suit.

I hear what you are saying. The only problem is scientists have fucked up in the past with vaccines like they did with some polio, measles, & RSV vaccines. These vaccine studies went on over a period of years and failed. How about the swine flu rushed vaccines. Millions in this country took that vaccine. Then it was stopped. Later on a few hundred who took the vaccine developed a rare condition called Guillain-Barré syndrome. Nothing to see here said the scientist and government. When all was said and done the scientists said “Oops” in regarding all these vaccines and went about their daily business.

OK but as they say don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater. Science isn’t perfect, but they’ve come a long way since those days. As I was commenting on Jed who compared it to be afraid of flying. That’s not an accurate comparison, because being on the ground is not more dangerous. But if you want to get somewhere far away you take that minimal risk to get on the plane. But getting the vaccine is much safer than not getting it. The greater risk taking is not getting vaccinated.

Border Patrol Sending Busloads of Illegal Immigrants to Florida

They are coming by busloads and it’s all thanks to President Joe Biden and his new immigration policies. The Biden administration is now sending busloads of illegal immigrants from the border region to Florida and other parts of the U.S., in what some legislators call the return of “catch and release” and the criminal act of “human trafficking.”

So we should only believe those scientists and medical people that agree with
you and ignore all that disagree? Sorry, but that is not how Science works.

The first question anyone should ask is who is getting Grant money for their position on the Virus. Second why are those Scientists and medical experts that disagree being blocked and censured?

JMO but that sounds like an Authoritarian/Totalitarian government out of control that goes against everything this great country is founded upon.

Fact Masks won’t protect you from the virus only total isolation which is impossible.

Mandates declaring that everyone should be vaccinated regardless even if they have had Covid is not a good idea. Overstimulating the immune system has been proven to be deleterious in many cases.

Latest theory are that those that are vaccinated can be super spreaders! If true WTF?

It’s a shame that politics have become a religion. I just hope that people become more facts and analytic driven particularly as it pertains to health. Of the 607,000 deaths in the USA, just 119 individuals were between the age of 5 and 14. These numbers I am about to spout are straight from the CDC website. What they don’t tell us if there were any unfortunate underlying conditions related to these deaths. Obviously there is a difference between somebody with hodgkins lymphoma and that of a healthy child. By comparison and to put things in perspective, in the year 2020 and in just the state of New Jersey, there were 587 fatalities by motor vehicle accident. I think people needs to really dig deep and ask themselves, “are we hurting our youth’s emotional development by having them wear masks, being afraid of germs, interaction with classmates where they learn highs and lows of life, essentially experience being a kid.” The answer, without being political, is an obvious yes. For those that want to blame unvaccinated, it’s not competent of you to do so as you can see, this virus has little to no impact on children so why are they being politicized?

Furthermore, the average life expectancy is roughly 79 years old. Nearly 57% of the deaths recorded to COVID were around that age demographic or higher where its typical of individuals to die of influenza, pheumonia, etc. Between the ages of 25 and 65 (let’s say typical teacher career expectancy since their pensions kick in at 65), there were 124,965 deaths. Of that number, let’s focus on those 55 to 65 range which is 77,703 deaths (under the age of 55, there were 47,262 covid deaths versus 38,690 Americans who did in car accidents in 2020) So for the age group of 55 to 65, how do we best protect them? Well for starters, if they are concerned, they are likely vaccinated which prevents deathly symptoms once you get COVID . Additionally, they should have the choice to wear a mask, sanitize and maintain a six feet distance from any child. Quite frankly, I’m sure more parents would feel comfortable if teachers maintained their six feet distance from their children post pandemic.

Let’s look at recent trends. In the month of July 2021 there were 2,255 covid deaths between the ages of 25 and 65. Compared to June – 2,649 covid deaths and May – 5,863 deaths. We appear to be trending in the right direction. I ask that people take the time to really dissect the data. I know it’s “woke” or whatever to blindly just blast deplorables and to not ask questions. It’s completely sensible for somebody to ask the question if they should get a vaccine in terms of the long-term impacts. The answer is different depending on who you are. Over the age of 70, I’d recommend it. Obese – certainly! Under the age of 40 and healthy in all material respects, quite frankly, not sure why it matters since the vaccine doesn’t prevent the virus as I know of a handful of individuals who were vaccinated that have spread the virus. No, I am not a conspiracy theorist. In my experience in dealing with the government, they are an incompetent bunch so I rather make decisions on health based on facts and analytics and not emotion or propaganda. But as I said, politics have become a religion

Yeah, what are we thinking? We should only have complete trust in your word.

“Most of the people that are Florida folks have admitted their ultimate destination is the state of Florida,” he said. “So this has huge implications not just for our country as a whole, but states like my own where a lot of these folks are going to end up coming illegally.”

DeSantis also said that the Biden administration is helping migrants reach their desired destination without the approval of state governors.

“When they get turned over to the feds, what the feds are essentially doing is giving them a bus ticket and letting them go where they want to go,” he said.

Biden has already allowed over 1 million illegals into the US and they are kept in close quarters spreading covid. They are now being sent to all parts of the US and not informing the states where they are busing and flying them. It was Governor Abbott of Texas who told Governor DeSantis that Florida is receiving 70 percent of illegals coming into Del Rio Texas.

DeSantis said some of his information came from the law enforcement personnel Florida sent to Texas to help with the border crisis since Biden took office in January.

I’d have a hard time keeping my tickets if I was a Vikings fan. This fight is not over. We’re battling Delta and we’ve got Epsilon and Lambda on deck, and they could be resistant to the vaccine. Children could be more vulnerable. We don’t know. I’m going back to wearing a mask, and I’m absolutely pissed off about it. But I need to protect myself and my family.

The enemy is the Covid virus. We need to be unified in fighting this virus with everything we’ve got.

But you have antivaxers and those who indulge them who are being called freedom fighters. Really? I call them DISEASE PEDDLERS because they are helping this disease by working against the effort to beat it.

Go to your local hospitals. Find out how many are there because they had a bad reaction to the vaccine. Answer: Probably Zero. How many are there because they are unvaccinated and got Covid. Answer: A lot. But they know this and they just choose to disregard it. Their story is that the virus isn’t really that bad, and they’re sticking to it come hell or high water.

Freedom fighters. They’re running instead of fighting. What a sad joke. You get flu shots and mumps, measles, shingles shots. It’s just a quick shot. I just don’t get why people won’t join the fight against this disease.

I have a fair question regarding this data. The majority of the people who died from the virus at the beginning had underlying medical conditions. There should normally be many more deaths at the start of the pandemic as those with the most critical health issues would be the first to die, correct? These numbers would decrease in time. We also learned how to better protect those with chronic conditions from the virus such as those in nursing homes. I’m not sure this data is comparing apples with apples.

Jed, you have a very valid point that I am certain skewered the deaths in the first year as high. I was just pointing out to the original poster that saying we were a lot safer under Trump versus the virus cannot be objectively be discuss. We would need far more information than the CDC is currently giving us, hence why I understand why people are skeptical about the virus. But I also hate that most people keep comparing covid to car deaths. The truth is that less than 1 in 9 Americans have contracted the disease that we know of. How many chanced in one day do you risk your life on the road. As you said, they are not comparing apples to apples.

Obama seen dancing maskless at booze-filled birthday bash

      https://www.yahoo.com/news/obama-seen-dancing-maskless-booze-165600422.html?.tsrc=fp_deeplink

Former President Barack Obama was seen dancing without a face covering at his weekend 60th birthday bash in his luxury home in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

The 44th president was captured in now-deleted footage posted by singer-songwriter Erykah Badu grooving beside other maskless attendees on what appeared to be a stage while loud music blared on Saturday. Obama, in white jeans, is seen embracing a woman in front of a crowd in the footage.

Rapper Trap Beckham and manager TJ Chapman, both of whom were attendees of the event, also snapped a series of photographs capturing bottles of top-shelf alcohol, cigars, and s’mores-style cocktails, according to the New York Post.

Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Hudson, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Bradley Cooper, and Don Cheadle, among other celebrities, were reportedly in attendance on Saturday.

I really despise politics invovled in sports but thats just not reality anymore. And there may never be a return to normal in this aspect.

And yes, this is and has become a political issue which is really a shame. Politics has now succeeded to completely divide us and that is a terrible thing and we really should all be ashamed of that. Of course, thats not going to happen so we all gotta pick sides.

We have our public health expert who has expressly been political. If you cant see that then I dont think you are thinking critically. I did suspect he was political from the start but when they asked Fauci if the summer riots were contributing to the spread and he refused to give an answer that prooved my suspicions to be true. Im not sure how anybody could defend that but Im sure in todays day and age people would try.

Now we have the White House telling us they can determine what is and isnt misinformation? And saying they are taking action against it? Well, the problem here is the White House is political. Why in the world would a sane person believe politicians(right or left) should be in charge of determining what is and isnt true? Think about that. There is no rational way for me to understand how this should make anybody trust the vaccine more.

The politicization of this virus became rage for me when the drug hydroxychlorquine was in the news and your opinion of it was pretty much determined by your politics. Medicine should not be political and one side is clearly lying which leaves us as the victims at the end of the day. This would not be how politics works in my world.

Sorry to make this comment so long but I felt it needed to be long to properly explain my bottom line, which is, that there is a major trust issue at the heart of this vaccine issue. At least thats how it is for me.

Many of the talking points i read on this comment section exactly mirror what I hear when I turn on mainstream media. I dont know how you all can still trust mainstream media but I can assure you many like myself do not and cannot trust them any longer.

I only use alternate media now and I would like to share 2 of the most important things I learned that could, maybe should, put an end to this vaccine debate once and for all.

      1) Covid has been proven to bd effectively treatable at home. This comes from AAPS and this can perhaps but an end to the hospilitization issues we currently see. More people should be aware of this vaccine or not.

2)Ive currently been reading about a supplement called NAC that Ive heard has been inceedible at preventing Covid. This drug has been around for 40 years sowe know its safe and it very well maybe an solution to those who are skeptical of the vaccine. And I just learned about this so I have only read limited studies. Ill do my own futher research to see how viable of a solution it is. I suggest you all do the same and stop relying on mainsteam media who has yet to ever talk about this drug as far as i know. Doesnt seem like the media has our backs here.

And for my off topic point Ive seen complaints on this site about the topics being single pages and difficult to navigate. I offer a simple solution. Somebody can start a topic called Covid implications II and let all 350 of the comments fade into the distance.

And if you do start a Covid II page just let me know if that one gets too long. I have a solution for that as well.

Fact: Both vaccinated and unvaccinated are getting the Variant and the %’s are all over the place when you compare the US with other countries. Can’t seem find anything on those that have had Covid and their response? Horrible research and stats IMHO.

Build a wall around FL , and no more federal aid

This is just the way the liberal mind operates. Build a wall around American citizens and stop Fed funding them with the tax money they have paid. On the other hand let 1 million COVID infected illegals (who have paid zero taxes) cross the southern border this year alone and provide them with all the Fed funding they need to transition. This is the same crap floating around DC by the Demos. Wake up people! They are after your rights so they can have complete control.

Is there a liberal on this thread who is anti-mask and anti-lockdown? Is there a conservative on this thread who is pro-mask and pro-lockdown? If so, speak up, because you are probably thinking for yourself, rather than following a political agenda.

I was posting the video as news on the subject. Just because you disagree with someone’s view or opinion is not a call for censorship. The article you linked has some misinformation such as Youtube banning the doctor’s video. As you can see this is not true as the Youtube video is linked here on this thread for everyone to view. I’m still on the fence about getting the vaccine. Still doing my own research. It’s people like you with their vile comments that makes me think getting the vaccine might not be the right thing.

He says my gathering more information on the vaccine before taking it or not is being brainwashed. He might be the one who is brainwashed for all I know.

The rules regarding this virus seem to change every few weeks or so. When Trump was saying there would be a safe vaccine before the end of 2020 all the Democrats were saying he is crazy because it takes time to produce a safe vaccine. Biden gets in office they are saying we are good to go on the vaccine. It’s safe. If you get the vaccine you no longer need to wear a mask.

Now they are saying you need to wear a mask again vaccine or not. Some Democrats are even talking possible school shut downs again. All this and I’m suppose to feel safe about this vaccine? Brainwashed he says. These people change their mind more than my wife before selecting shoes to go with her dress.

Herd immunity can also be accomplished with those who have already been infected with the virus. That is the largest issue I have with the data, it doesnt take into consideration those who have a natural immunity.

Hey good to see you back. I had a feeling we would hear back from you. I’m still doing my research on the vaccine. I found a new study from the Mayo Clinic. Just trying to keep everyone informed and updated so don’t go getting all pissy. The study compared the effectiveness of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines from Jan-July.

Overall, it found that the Moderna vaccine was 86% effective against infection over the study period, and Pfizer’s was 76%. Moderna’s vaccine was 92% effective against hospitalization and Pfizer’s was 85%.

But the vaccines’ effectiveness against infection dropped sharply in July, when the Delta variant’s prevalence in Minnesota had risen to over 70%.

Moderna was 76% effective against infection, and Pfizer was only 42% effective.

The study found similar results in other states. For example, in Florida, the risk of infection in July for people fully vaccinated with Moderna was about 60% lower than for people fully vaccinated with Pfizer.

And exactly What does that have to do with the “con man” keeping America safer than the current career politician???

Remember, the con man didn’t have the full proof vaccine available, yet everyone was safer.

      Imagine that

Wait so you are saying 580,000 deaths under Trump from covid in ONE YEAR is safer than 39,000 deaths in 7 months under Biden?

I have a fair question regarding this data. The majority of the people who died from the virus at the beginning had underlying medical conditions. There should normally be many more deaths at the start of the pandemic as those with the most critical health issues would be the first to die, correct? These numbers would decrease in time. We also learned how to better protect those with chronic conditions from the virus such as those in nursing homes. I’m not sure this data is comparing apples with apples.

Jed, there is a very valid point that certainly skewered the results as high. I was just pointing out to the original poster that saying we were as a whole safer under Trump versus the virus cannot be objectively discuss. As you said, they are not comparing apples to apples.

im with you. I have alot of liberal views. it’s under liberals that interracial marriage, gay marriage and womens right to vote became legal. I believe in equality but by the same token strolling down memory lane will get you Lincoln as a Republican freeing the slaves so i do live by the “What have you done for me lately” anology.

I never cared too much for politics. Always considered myself apolitical. The crime bill under Clinton doubled the size of our prison population. The Wars started under Bush were horrible and will filled with fear and Propaganda. Obama who promised change did very little change but i didnt mind him as i made alot of money in the stock market. Trump was remarkable in terms of economic and foreign policy success. The fact that liberal media says, “We long for Bush” is simply biased and reckless. While Trump was an a-hole, many did well under him prior to COVID global pandemic.

What radicalized me, so to speak, was how democrat governors handled covid. Taking away “Free-dumb” as liberal minded “college educated” would say we are over-reacting. It’s not as bad as the draft many decades ago, but it’s certainly second in recent memory of infringement on our rights

Unfortunately, im a financial guy who analyzes numbers, trends, etc. and dont go off of fear and propanda….a page in which it appears the democrats are taking a page out of the republican playbook.

Democrats control all three branches of government. So far, in 8 months, all they did was bash trump and trump voters. Make a change for your voter base, even though they are too sheep minded to realize you do nothing but widen the gap between rich and middle class, bootlickers so to speak.

A majority of Americans in highly vaccinated counties now live in covid hot spots, according to Post analysis

Two-thirds of Americans in highly vaccinated counties now live in coronavirus hot spots, according to an analysis by The Washington Post, as outbreaks of the highly transmissible delta variant – once concentrated in poorly vaccinated pockets – ignite in more populated and immunized areas.

The Post analysis illustrates how rapidly the state of the pandemic changed in July from a problem for the unvaccinated to a nationwide concern.

I can understand the concerns of both sides regarding the vax. IMO it’s up to each person to do what they believe is right for them. Each has his/her own reasons. I would never try to influence someone one way or the other. I would feel horrible if something bad happened to the person as a result of health advice I gave them. Leave it between the person and their doctor who has all the medical history.

I love how people lean on the individual freedom argument, then call EMS and go to the community hospital when they get sick which puts an unnecessary burden on the healthcare system all Americans depend on. Go ask a local ER or ICU healthcare worker how things are going. Based on the posts I see from other nurses on social media, things are going pretty shitty right now all across the south. Even the most empathetic and caring nurses are rethinking their career choices. If you don’t trust the medical professionals advising you to get the vaccine, then don’t come looking for their help when you get sick. It’s all about personal responsibility.

For those of you who are financial guys, can you tell me how medicaid/medicare will remain solvent if surges like this continue? I’m guessing tax increases. How are health insurance companies going to attempt to make up for all the losses they are currently taking? I bet we’ll all be paying higher insurance premiums. How are hospitals (especially smaller rural ones) going to keep the doors open when half of their staff either leave the healthcare field because they are burnt out or search out more competitive pay due to the staffing shortages? That means that all of those people living in that rural area will have to travel significantly further when they have a medical emergency, which will inevitably lead to even higher mortality rates.

With each individual decision people make, there are ripple effects that will impact the rest of society. Don’t be a selfish asshole. If you don’t want to get the vaccine, that’s cool. Just don’t show up at the ER and be a parasite on society later on.

      Well this sure didn’t help.

July was busiest month for illegal border crossings in 21 years, CBP data shows

The number of migrants detained along the Mexico border crossed a new threshold last month, exceeding 200,000 for the first time in 21 years, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection enforcement data released Thursday.

Among the 212,672 migrants taken into U.S. custody in July were 82,966 family members and 18,962 unaccompanied teenagers and children — an all-time high. The unaccompanied minors’ custody requirements have once more overwhelmed the Biden administration as it struggles to care for them safely in the middle of the pandemic.

Biden officials predicted earlier this year that the volume of people crossing the border would decline with the summer heat. Instead, Central American adults and children are crossing again in large groups of 300 or more, and U.S. border facilities are jammed with migrants shoulder-to-shoulder in detention facilities.

Despite being tested frequently, “the data is pretty clear: Migrants are not testing positive at any higher rate,” Reichlin-Melnick said.

Experts pointed out that, if the theory about immigrants were correct, cities along the southern border would likely have disproportionately higher COVID rates than the rest of the country. But that’s not the case.

There’s “no increase in COVID-19 cases in areas (around the) border where migrants cross or where they go after crossing,” David Wohl, a physician who studies infectious diseases at UNC, told PolitiFact NC.

“More obvious to (almost) any objective observer is that this is scapegoating and conflation of two different issues that have become very political,” Wohl said.

Arthur Caplan, director of the division of medical ethics at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine, told PolitiFact the same thing in an interview for the recent check of DeSantis.

“The pattern of distribution of coronavirus cases does not correspond in any way to immigrant movement,” Caplan said.

5 truths about the Covid Virus

      1. Covid and the variant offer little risk to Children
it is less dangerous than the common Flu.

      2. There is little evidence that masks are effective even N95, Studies on healthcare workers have shown no difference between N95 and regular hospital masks in preventing Flu transmission.
There is no definitive study that shows a mask will protect you from catching the virus.

      3. Natural immunity is better than vaccine immunity from Israel studies. (gold standard)

      4. If you are among those that have not had Covid taking the vaccine will likely keep you out of the hospital. There are also therapeutics available that if done early will do this as well.

      5. The un-vaccinated are no threat to anyone but themselves.

That is not correct. The study said it was “slightly” better against re-infection. Not against getting it for the first time. Only about 11% of Americans have had covid. They weren’t the only ones either. But it is for re-infections not against getting it the first time.

Israel is far more credible in their research than the US

      Runole,
Since people are twisting some things, I wanted to make everyone clear it was about the re-infection rate. Even multiple US researchers have come to that same conclusion. I wasn’t disagreeing. Unfortunately, without the CDC putting out hard number, we can’t be certain how many were re-infected. Which yes, is why people are skeptical to get the vaccine in the first place. If the CDC was transparent with all their data, then people would probably feel much better about it.

What pisses me off is when J.A.S.H.E.R. posts this website openvaers like it is the REAL VAERS website. Not only does it copy and paste the about us from the real site, saying it was created in 1990, when a Liz Wilner in Oakland made it in January of this year. It was originally on thearkivist.com. It even says on the summary page “Our data reflects all VAERS data including the “nondomestic” reports.” Which means vaccines world wide, which means for our two (formerly three) vaccines, the summary data is useless.

I’m not talking about transmitting the virus. I’m talking about using up healthcare resources that others need to survive. If you haven’t been paying attention hospitals (especially in the south) are completely overwhelmed. It’s only going to get worse as RN’s, RT’s, MD’s, and other healthcare professionals get burnt out and leave the profession (which is happening at record speed).

So please stop comparing this “flu” to something such as Polio/Smallpox. Furthermore, those vaccines took YEARS of research before they were approved. Finally, when the statistics start taking into affect the natural immunity due to contracting the virus, then maybe will I take them seriously.

From my understanding it has been theorized that the vaccine is a primary cause of the increase in the Variant mutation according to the Israel studies. The Covid molecule has 28 protein points one of which is synthesized by the manmade vaccine. That leaves 27 possible mutations in the future and would explain the numbers of vaccinated carrying and transmitting the Variant. This not to say that the carriers are in more danger themselves but it could certainly explain the dramatic increase in Covid cases by both the vaccinated and unvaccinated that haven’t contracted Covid previously. Again, it appears from the Israel studies that natural immunity from those 38.8 million that have had Covid and survived results in a better benefit than those just vaccinated.

That being said if you have not had Covid you should get the Vaccine.
