      • Russell Wilson - 4yr/$87mil......$60mil guaranteed  :oCam Chancellor holding out with 3 years left on recently signed contractBeast mode held out last year for new dealBelieve Michael Bennett held out last year as well?

Seems like winning the super bowl is the ultimate curse on future year's teams. unless you're the Pats, of course. I don't see how the seahawks avoid cap hell without severely cutting the roster soon.

Bobby Wagner is looking for more, too.  If that defense goes, the ‘hawks are back to the middle-of-the-pack team… at best.EDIT:

one of my good friends is a Seahawks fan and we’ve been discussing this happening the past couple of years. Seattle got extremely lucky and was able to have a QB who was cheap which allowed them to build and retain all their star players on defense. Now that Wilson has finally gotten paid and all these other players are wanting more $$$ too, the window will most likely start closing after this season and they will have to rebuild with younger players.

I would gladly trade a Superbowl win for 10 years of mediocrity/losing……….again.

Their fine. The players that they need for the long term are all signed through 2017 and 2018. Not including the Wilson deal they were more than $34M under the 2016 cap and they can get out of the Lynch contract (6.5 savings), Bennett contract (3 savings) and Avril contract (5 savings). They need to chill out wit the Harvin and Graham type trades though. Trading draft picks for big contracts is a recipe for disaster.

They're a middle-of-the-pack team without Wilson, too. Everybody wants to get paid. When unsure of who to make the priority, always go with the Quarterback. Wilson is still young. They can build that team around him similar to what Pittsburgh did with Ben when he came in the league. The four-year deal is actually pretty good for the Seahawks. If the concern is that Russell's scrambling ability will decline as he ages, the relatively short contract term doesn't necessarily bog them down. Wouldn't be surprised to see them draft another QB in the next few years.

Yeah, it's a 4 year extension through 2019...  That's less than $18M/per.  Not even close to the $20M+ that was rumored a few weeks ago.  But, their cap space will bite them where they live... and that's on defense.

Since it was an extension you'd have to only include the new extended years. Pretty sure it comes out to $21.9M/yr.
