4 years, $160 million. And get this…. $126 million is guaranteed.

He is NOT worth that kind of money.

I don’t know if Dak will earn it, but his agent sure earned his cut with all the negotiating he’s had to do for this guy.

And Jerry Jones sure screwed himself. He could have done a lot cheaper deal last year.

This crushes their cap. Good luck fielding a team. How much between their QB/RB/WR1?

That’s a shit ton of cheddar.

The cowboys have almost half their salary cap being taken up by 10 players.

Deal drops his potential cap hit this year. They’ve got a bunch a fake years at the back end they can extend the deal into. They will be paying him until the sun goes nova. Dak is part of that tier of guys you can win with but who isn’t transcendent and needs help.

Dallas is likely a playoff team just because no one else has a competent QB in that division but that isn’t a good team.

The good news…they are in the NFC Least.

The bad news…they will lose to a wild card team every year because they can’t field a decent team due to all the $$$ their franchise QB will get.

They will never get further than the first round of the playoffs until Jerry the owner fires Jerry the GM.

They will in the NFCE. Let’s be honest I’m not a huge Dak fan but Dak is clearly better than (and this is a sorry lineup of QBs) anyone else in the NFCE:
        Hurts
        Jones
Bag of rocks WFT winds up with.

Wish we got to play 6 games a year vs that dreck.

Talk about economically stifling a franchise. I am a bit surprised they are paying Dak that much. A very good QB, but not worth that kind of money.

Dak Prescott is the biggest myth in sports. The Cowboys set themselves back 30 years. College kids today, have not been alive for Cowboy relevance. Jones is making sure this is the case for at least the next 10 years. Cowboy fan is the biggest idiot in the sport today. Well done.

Almost as bad as the money they wasted on Zeke.

This contract all but assures Zeke will be cut after this season, no doubt.

Is Dak the 3rd best QB in the league? No, but that’s how NFL contracts seem to work. He’s still a franchise QB, think you guys are being a little hard on the guy. He was playing at a very high level before his injury, I think he’s shown enough to deserve a big extension.

Once again the Cowboys cave.. they wanted to sign him to a 5 year deal, he wanted a 4 year deal, they ultimately gave in just like they did with Zeke.

He’s not a franchise QB. That’s why this is a head scratcher. He doesn’t win.

Only Jameis never robbed Tampa for bags. And, in less games, Jameis has like 20 more TDs. Poor fucking stupid Cowboys.

Yeah. 20 more passing TD’s and nearly 50 more INT’s.

That’s a crazy contract. But he was the only reason that offense was worth a shit last season. Here are the O’s averages before and after Dak’s injury vs. the Giants:

With Dak: 510 total yards of offense, 408 passing yards, and 31.5 points a game
W/O Dak: 319 total yards of offense, 205 passing yards, and 21.1 points a game

      That’s a striking difference.

So Dak makes $40M a year and Brady makes $25M a year?

Dak makes $40 million a year. Brady makes $25 million a year.

Brady has seven Super Bowl rings. Dak has zero.

Dallas does a very good job of drafting OL on rookie contracts so they have a chance to be competitive still despite Dak being paid that type of money. But how will Dallas field a defense?

Brady is smart. He understands taking a big pile of money hinders an organization from building a good team around him. He took less in NE, doing it in TB.

As if it wasn’t high already just because it’s the Cowboys, this raises the pressure on Dak now to win a Super Bowl through the roof. Nothing less will be good enough for the fans and Jones with this type of money being paid out whether that’s fair or not. Agree Cooper and Zeke may be on their last ride in Dallas this year.
