The question is did anyone go to his signing at BucGear (I think that was the name of the store) multiple years ago when he was almost 2 hours late, showed up in his fancy car and had an I don’t give a sh&t attitude?

Lord knows i wasn’t a fan of the guy by the time he left here but i have to give credit where credit is due. I ran into him at the East/West Shrine game in January. Had my 10 yr old nephew with me. Clayton couldn’t have been nicer. He took pics with my him, let him wear his superbowl and national championship rings, spoke to him about 15 minutes about the importance of listening to his parents, being respectful, getting exercise, eating right, and most importantly getting good grades. There were no cameras around….just us and I was really surprised at how sincere he was speaking on the mistakes he made when he was younger and how determined he is to make a difference in the lives of young people going forward. It was definitely impactful for my nephew and i've had a hard time disliking him since.

Thanks for sharing, Hate. I think it is important for kids these days to hear stories from others who had struggles as a youth and were able to overcome. I know such stories helped me just a few years ago before I went away to college.
