Anyone who’s on the fence with Spence as our pick at #9 or if we drop down a few spots, if he drastically improves on his combine numbers today at his pro day are you more comfortable with him as our pick???
It would help. But I don’t trust the rumors regarding his interviews. Hoping the Bucs do their due diligence.
It’s at 1 PM, anyone know if NFL network will televise a pro day?
Wouldn’t change my opinion. I like him, but am wavering if he is gonna be BPA.
Pro Day 40 times mean little to me. If he improved all of his combine performances significantly I would be much more comfortable taking him. Vert, broad, short shuttle, 3 come, 40. He needs to up all those numbers a bit for me. Especially the jumps. I feel those translate location to location well. Not as much with running events, but I’d still want to see significant improvements. The injury excuse seems bogus. There is probably a reason at his size that I’m not seeing film of him playing in space. He most likely is not an elite athlete.
In regards to the 40 time. I only go on the combine numbers. Pro day numbers are almost always faster. The combine 40 has been in my opinion the most accurate 40 time test out of all scouting events I’ve seen from highschool to the pros and it mostly yields the slowest results (go figure).

Yeah I disregard pro day times too. They always seem much more inflated.
Nationalmockdrafts ?@Nat_MockDrafts 2h2 hours ago31 Teams are at EKU to watch Noah Spence. #NFL #NFLDraft
I wonder what team wasn’t there
So … what was the 40 time? Bueller?
Walter football says the weather sucks and EKU has no indoor facility. Sounds like it was up in the air if it was going down today, and 30’s with precip aren’t likely conditions to blow up a Pro Day with great results.
Eastern Kentucky The workout finished just a little while ago, and Noah Spence completed the 40 as well as position drills. Almost 40 scouts from 24 different teams were on hand. Times for Spence ranged in the high 4.6s to 4.77 on a wet field in 37-degree temperature. Tampa Bay Bucs defensive line coach Jay Hayes ran the workout, and the early reports are Spence was impressive. Tampa Bay looking at him at defensive end. New York Jets had almost a half dozen people at workout
Impressive. Tougher conditions.
Does anyone know how they decide which coach will conduct the work out? It's "interesting" at the very least that Jay Hayes ran him through the drills...
