Arians should have called a timeout right away with 20 seconds left. for one reason to measure how short was the 4th and 1 after evans in bound catch . And to make a better decision on whether to go for it on the ground or in the air, or just kick the field goal. The point is there was no upside to rushing the play and then calling the timeout with 8 seconds left. Just seemed like a poor decision to me even if they still decided for the 3 points.
It is Arians’ big weakness for sure. Going for 2 in the 3rd quarter was also a bone head move. You never chase points that early. We would have been up 9 and cruising instead of giving the Gmen a chance to tie it late.
