The same Texas governor who decried, federal intervention, masks and stay at home orders during CV19 has now, in response to the winter weather:

      1. issued an order telling Texans to avoid travel

      2.Sought FEDERAL emergency assistance

Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the White House has issued a Federal Emergency Declaration for Texas in response to the severe winter weather throughout the state. The Governor submitted a request for this declaration on Saturday to assist the State in response efforts related to the storm

AUSTIN, Texas (KTRK) — Governor Greg Abbott says the massive outages leaving millions in the dark Monday were caused by private power companies that “fell short,” calling it the winter version of “Hurricane Harvey.”

“The people who have fallen short with regard to the power are the private power generation companies,” Abbott said.

THIS AFTER ABBOTT ONCE CIRCULATED A CHART SAYINBG TEXAS SUPERIOR TO CALIFORNIA (lol) for pur political gain

      4. Lastly, where are the most significant infrastructure-related power outages? Houston and Galveston . . . of course

Hmm .. what other common trait exists in Houston and Galveston???????

Answer me this Alice….. Are you saying, being against federal mask mandates and stay at home orders is everything wrong with politics?

        And this…

You suck at this. You absolutely suck at this. We should meet up because I am not getting nearly enough satisfaction doing this on a message board as I really deserve. You need to be publicly humiliated and mocked. at least 4 years of lies finally laid bear.

Both sides are corrupt and the worst part is the nation is divided by the dumbest things purposely. Easier to control people when they are divided. People cling desperately to their party thinking they are right and the other is insert negative label. People need to come together and say fuck politics, race, gender, we are all shitting eating fucking creatures that breathe the same God damn air. Us government set it up this way and it worked. I think we need to work together to end it. It’s the only way this country will ever be great again.

From what I am reading, the massive outages are being caused because all the climate saving relying on nature energy methods were brought to their knees; by nature. They froze.

Looks like you can only save the planet when there is good weather.

Short of witnessing it myself, the sources of information available to me are pretty limited so what I read and watch. And, since I don’t live in Texas, my options are pretty limited.

Oh, and for the record, I do think Flynn was caught in a fly trap, but point to me where I said Russia was a hoax.

How dare the red state governors who allow people to eat in restaurants or go outdoors without a permission slip point out that they have the same frigging positivity rate or lower than the blue states where individual liberty is treated like a freaking curse.

This is what gets a sane Republican riled up? How dare red state governors point out the truth about lockdowns?

      You suck at this.

Texas should be blaming all liberals for their failures in winter weather preparation.

It’s all AOC and the liberal media!

Should we all pull a Ted Cruz for a moment and mock the state?

Or do we have to take the high road…. uuuuuuuhhhgain

I have no problem if you want to blame the Republican Governor or legislature or whatever but it doesn’t have anything to do with having looser covid restrictions than the good blue states.

In all honesty it has a lot to do with using too many renewables. But I don’t say that so that we can get rid of renewables, I’m fine with renewables but we need to get some things figured out if we’re going to use them on a large scale to replace natural gas and other fuel sources.

You want to make me a bad guy go ahead but I’m not against renewables. It just gets me how you guys somehow claim victory after a crushing defeat. This ought to be bad news for renewables…. or maybe we redouble our efforts?

Good job buying the bullshit narrative that this is all renewable energy’s fault and not hubris self-isolationism from Texas!

You really bought that fox news narrative!

        I’m shocked!

Meanwhile wind works perfectly fine in Alaska.

      The cocoon speaks

“In all honesty it has a lot to do with using too many renewables.”

The actual problem in America is that 1/3 of the country just parrots everything the cocoon says. There’s so much information out there to completely crush that claim . . including pictures of windmills running in Antarctica (dergulated TX bought windmills without winterization lol) . . in case words are too complex.

      :-)

STFU Alice. The fact is that renewables were part of the problem as renewable sources also failed. I didn’t say it was exclusively due to windmills freezing up.

I also said you can blame whoever you want. I really don’t have a dog in the fight or care. I’m for renewables as I said already.

But if you want to make it about deregulation then I really have to ask for that Republican card once and for all. How is it that a republican sounds exactly like a socialist 99.99 percent of the time? Something wrong with your story there Alice.

Deregulation, free markets and the like give companies a chance to keep costs low but also a chance to fail miserably. The thing that you and fire overlook is that those failures…. in a free system, allow efficiency improvements to occur because those failures are quite costly.

In la la Democrat Utopia universe ,the state controls the Utilities, the states put in place more and more onerous regulations which drive costs higher and higher while at the same time making it less and less efficient. When these systems have a failure, a few heads may roll but those failures don’t drive innovation or efficiency because these systems aren’t dependent on profits. Failure increases regulation and costs, not efficiency.

I’m also real glad you had time to read up on winterized windmills while you were locked in that padded room for the month. Shame on Texas for thinking of costs wen buying windmills.

        Sounds totally Republican.

It’s amazing how so many people get on their high hobby horse so quickly. Be it to take offence or try to offend.

The more I read about this, and yes, that is my primary source of material since I don’t live in Texas, it comes down to a whole bunch of errors. Yes, the windmills froze, but some of the gas pipes froze as well. With an average temperature this time of year of mid 50’s to mid 60’s it is understandable in my opinion that neither the pipes nor the windmills were ‘winterized. I am pretty confident most, if not all of Florida is in the same boat. But it was fun watching the spit, froth and snot erupting for a while :)
