Barber was a short corner that didn’t have much speed and he panned out okay I think.I thought Tunsil was the better value but with his character issues and our D being so bad...CB and DE were the bigger needs and there was no value at DE at that spot.A small part of me was hoping for a 2nd trade down...but I can live with it. We got a good CB who fills a big need. There's a ton of value in rounds 2-4 and we got an early 4th round pick and still got VH3. Again...I don't LOVE the pick...but I am happy with it...especially with the trade down.Now...if we trade back up into the 1st using that 4th...I will be ecstatic...lol.

PFFs full take on VH3: We had mocked Hargreaves to the Bucs multiple times throughout the process, and they move back and still get their guy. No cornerback moves as smoothly as Hargreaves who posted our No. 2 coverage grade in 2014 and despite a step back in 2015, he’s the most scheme-diverse cornerback in the draft outside of Ramsey. Hargreaves is outstanding when playing in “off” coverage, capable of closing on the ball and he features some of the best ball skills in the draft. He can get into trouble at times biting on double moves, but the aggressiveness and closing skills are a great fit for Tampa Bay’s zone-heavy scheme.https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2016/04/28/draft-2016-nfl-draft-pick-by-pick-grades-and-analysis-of-round-1-2/Besides the ending with the zone heavy scheme since we don't know yet, I don't see why people hate the pick? If you're reason is his height than that is just dumb.

The VH3 pick was anti-climactic for sure but I feel good about NO taking Rankins. Their drafting continues sucking and Atlanta drafted a downhill safety with limited cover skills and range. So far out of those in our division I would say we win.

I like the picks by the Saints and Falcons so far.

Rankins might be good for the Saints (not a good pick for the Bucs with GMC) but I don't like the idea of drafting a safety in Rd 1.

Jack’s fall is surprising. No one wants to take a possible short term investment this early in the draft. But the talent is there to who will have it. Nkemdiche, Dodd, Spence, and Bullard all looking like day 2 possibilities. Might have to trade up as I see a run of pass rushers early tomorrow.

There are still a couple teams that need a QB or might need a backup...but yeah...I don't see Glennon being traded because there are still come QBs out there like Cook that are better options than Glennon.

I think the Panthers understand value based on their schemes.  In a way the Seahawks did the same with the drafting of Ifedi as Cable can mold him to be a quality OL if given enough time.  The difference between great teams and the mediocre is to recognize which players to let go and which you need to fill gaps or stockpile.

I’m not worried about Vernon Butler going to the Panthers who had a career five sacks and ten TFLs last year in the C-USA conference. The worst thing about this board is people fall in love with certain players and absolutely lose it when their player doesn’t get drafted and a lot of times these players aren’t even BPA or position of need. Grown men acting like its the end of the world because we didn’t draft a player that wasn’t ranked high or was a position of need.

But usually people get fall in love with someone and when their pick isn't picked they do nothing but talk crap about the guy that's picked. VHIII wasn't my favorite player but I get why he was picked and outside his size he has the skillset to be a shutdown corner. Now hopefully we come back in round 2 and get the DE we want.

I would not have been a big fan of dropping all the way to 15, all the blue chip players were gone, the last one being Karl Joseph @ 14. The second and 3rd rounder is a good haul for Cleveland, but I think securing possibly the next Brent Grimes or Ronde Barber is just not worth missing out on...plus we got a 4th rounder. I think it all worked out, and it's awesome that Hargreaves is from TB.

The Panthers are just going around in circles now. They hit on Norman and let him go. They drafted Star at 14 and I was told they aren't re-signing him, which is why they drafted Butler. What's the point of drafting players, hitting on them and then just letting them go?

I think at least 1 QB will go before we pick and wouldn’t be at all surprised if two didn’t come off the board early. Both Cleveland and Dallas are strongly rumored to be looking that way at the top of the board.I'm fine with the VH3 pick and I can see why we picked him, Grimes is not a long term solution (1 to 2 years) and there is a lot of uncertainly with Banks, Verner and Robinson. The only thing I don't like about VH3 is what Kiper said about him sometimes not being as competitive or motivated as he should be. I saw that in the Michigan game after Michigan took a lead, VH3 pretty much seemed to me to go through the motions. However, when he wants to, he certainly can be a top DB. Expect Barber and Grimes to school him up a bit. I suspect he starts at the nickel for us this year.As for our 2nd pick, almost certain it's a a DE. Heard from several talent evaluators that this years talent in DT extends throughout all 7 rounds and that players that will be undrafted this year at DT could have been 5th/6th round picks in other years.Only 3 DE's off the board so far, so I expect that will be the position the Bucs target with the 8th pick. Really like Kevin Dodd, but he might be gone. Also like Correa or Spence here. One of these 3 would make me very happy.

I like the pick. I didn’t necessarily see CB as a position of need, but VH3 is a great player and a homegrown talent that should be a perfect guy to groom under Grimes. Would anyone else be ecstatic if we pick up Spence in R2 and use that extra 4th on Aguayo. I'm tired of losing games because of missed FGs!!!!

Personally I wouldn't want to use any pick on a kicker with that said, maybe a fifth round pick. Since the team picked up the extra fourth I don't think I can be mad if they went that route. Still can't wrap my head around using a draft pick on a kicker. I guess we would see when day three comes.

No, the worst thing is the people who assume that just because they think us trading up or down was a good idea, there was automatically another team willing to make that deal and the Bucs just didn't ask them.

I like the pick. I didn't necessarily see CB as a position of need, but VH3 is a great player and a homegrown talent that should be a perfect guy to groom under Grimes.

Aguayo is a pretty special kicker, IMO. Think Martin Grammatica with an even bigger leg. Remember, "Automatica" was a third rounder, himself!

Barber was a short corner that didn't have much speed and he panned out okay I think.I thought Tunsil was the better value but with his character issues and our D being so bad...CB and DE were the bigger needs and there was no value at DE at that spot.A small part of me was hoping for a 2nd trade down...but I can live with it.

      My thoughts exactly

Not taking Tunsil tells you the Bucs really like what they have at OT. VH3 is a top 15 talent for sure and the Bucs desperately needed to upgrade talent in the secondary. Getting the extra 4th was a nice bonus. Well done Licht.

I don't think it says that at all. I had read yesterday that the Titans would likely try to get ahead of the Bucs to get Conklin because they knew the Bucs coveted him. I think he would have been the pick at 9.

VH3's agent told him beforehand that the Bucs were going to trade with Chicago and take him at 11. It was VH3 all along.

I feel the same way about VH3 now that I did before the draft- he’s a fine player but I’m not sure CB was much of a need for us.  Definitely smooth getting the extra fourth though, bonus points for that.  I’m not sure passing on Tunsil was a good idea.Zeke to Dallas was an excellent move by them.  Their offense will be one of the best and they can devote the rest of this deep defensive draft to talent on that side.  I hate the Cowboys and it pains me to say that I think they played to the depth of this draft very well when it compares to the needs on their team.

definitely believe this. I know they have liked vh3 since the beginning, but early on thought he would be drafted before our pick.

I'd be interested in finding out when that happened. It definitely didn't happen before or at the start of the draft. I'd bet any amount of money it didn't happen before Buckner was picked at 7 and I'd also bet by the time pick 7 was in, the Bucs knew Conklin was gone at 8. So yeah, if they told him that, I highly doubt it happened before they knew Conklin wouldn't be available.
