Blackman or one of the other 20 QBs will figure it out. When Blackman played last season, he was the ACC player of the week, throwing for over 400 yards and multiple TDs. Best thing that could happen to FSU as it clears up who the front runner is. Briles’s offenses the past 3 seasons have been #1, #8, and #5 in the country. FSU will be fine.

I remember when Muschamp hired multiple offensive coordinators and it didn’t make a difference. Briles won’t do much for the Noles as long as that clueless buffoon Willie Taggart is on the sidelines. FSU was very very close to going 2-10 last season, and got lucky that Petrino completely brain farted and gave FSU that game, not to mention that could have, and probably should have, lost the Samford and BC games.
FSU is going nowhere fast as long as Taggart is at the reigns. He truly does have no clue, that is a horrendously coached football team. It’s going to be a long time until FSU competes with UF again, this is headed back to the Meyer/Bowden years in terms of upcoming beatdowns. Mullen made Harbaugh look like a little league coach in their bowl game, so you damn well know Taggart has no prayer of outcoaching him.

@garfield – Briles is not just some OC. He’s elite, doing it against Oklahoma, Texas, and TCU defenses. It won’t take FSU long to compete again. Just had their best DB class ever, which is saying something when you consider the long line of studs coming through their program. Mullen coached UF vs a Michigan team with 7 guys missing on defense. Harbaugh played it like a spring game. Mullen is already at his ceiling. Enjoy the off-season though. Should be a blast.

Taggart is going to finish behind Mullen in recruiting this year, and let’s not even talk 2020 and 2021 where UF is already loading up on blue chip talent. Mullen learned from a master in Meyer and in one year improved UFs offense by almost 70 spots in the rankings with crappy McElwaib talent. Wait until he actually gets his talent.

2. Florida needs to be more concerned with finishing higher than 4th in their division. They finished third in their division and finished ranked 7th nationally this season.
3. UGA “ass raped” UF in home game. That “home game” was played at a neutral site, like it has been for decades.
4. “Irregardless” of his word selection, he continues to make his ilk in Tallahassee very proud with his football acumen. Much like the recent success FSU’s QBs have had with women.

Making fun of Mullen’s posture? That’s the best you’ve got? He is 5-0 against FSU as both an offensive coordinator under Meyer and as HC now at UF. In those games he has orchestrated 45-15, 45-12, 34-7, 37-10, and 41-14 obliterations on the Noles with the only close game being in 2006. FSU’s Oline has certainly been addressed. But yeah, if you think UF’s DB class is better than FSU’s, that must be the case. If you’ll notice, Clemson, once again, isn’t in the top 5 from a recruiting standpoint but, they are 2/1 favorites (I have never seen odds with more certainty), to win it all again.

Miami is too dependent on transfers and Florida will have the best recruiting class and best returning talent to start the season. Slim chance the U wins, but stranger things have happened. Both FSU and Miami are depleted from a talent standpoint currently.
Diaz used to coach under Mullen so they know each other’s tendencies. I’m not too worried about a team that went 6-6 and got rail roaded by the worst Wisconsin team in years against Mullen in year 2 of his system, though. Miami could win, though. FSU has no shot against UF next season, zilch.

You keep bringing up Kentucky, Georgia, and Missouri as if FSU is anywhere near the realm as good as those teams. All three would have destroyed that garbage FSU team last season. Kentucky has their best team in years, beat Penn State in a bowl and won 10 games, they’re a good team and they caught UF early with a new staff.
None of that changes the fact that FSU is awful. If they’d played UFs schedule last year they’d gone 3-9 at best. They get to hide behind the awful ACC thankfully with literally one good team in it. The whole conference is Clemson and a bunch of turds.

The SEC had Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, and Kentucky all win 10 games. Missouri and Mississippi State both won 8, and Vandy and Auburn both won 7. The second best team in the ACC was friggin’ Pittsburgh, who won 7 games, lmfao. Literally 7 SEC teams won more games than your second best team, and two had the same amount of wins. I don’t have a favorite college team but suggesting FSU is in better shape than UF is foolish. The good old days of dominant Florida college football teams are long gone. Coaching matters in college and imo Mullens is the best college coach in the state. Give him another year or two of recruiting in the state and he will be on top. @ Garfield, Taggert has a reputation of turning losers into winners. If you were from Tampa you would know that after the dreadful Skip Holtz years here at USF. Give Taggert a couple years and see what he can do.
The problem is, FSU wasn’t a loser until Taggart, you know, made them one. He also didn’t do much at USF until he was pretty much forced to play Quinton Flowers and it completely changed how his offense ran. All I know of Taggart at FSU so far is that the past two seasons, one at Oregon and one at FSU, his teams have led the nation in penalties. That indicates a lack of discipline and a lack of proper teaching by Taggart and his staff.
Great coaches take teams with glaring holes and mask them. UF coming into the season had a very poor offensive line and by the end of the year it was one of the better units in the SEC, that’s coaching. Florida last season was ranked in the 110’s in total offense and Mullen, with the same players that went 4-7, jumped it to 42nd overall, with Feliepe freaking Franks as his QB. That’s coaching. The team Mullen had this season will be his worst at UF while he is there, he doesn’t even have a dual threat QB yet playing that fits his offense. Wait until he gets his recruits, Florida is going to dominate. He is already loading up on top 100 recruits for 2020 and 2021. Taggart, in the mean time, is staring at one of the worst classes in FSU history, and one that doesn’t address the offensive line issues.
Compare their two resumes and it isn’t even a contest as to who the better coach is. Mullen won to national titles at UF as OC under one of the great coaches in recent times, Urban Meyer. Mullen’s offenses were continually ranked in the top 10 in total offense while at UF, and as soon as he left, they fell off a cliff and hadn’t been as good until, wait for it, Mullen returned last season. That’s not a coincidence. His coaching up of QBs also speaks for itself, he’s probably the best QB coach in the nation.
But please, FSU, keep Taggart. It will assure the Noles don’t compete with UF anytime soon.

Franks was 100 times better as a QB last season than the previous. He had a 10/9 TD/INT ratio under McElwain and a 51% completion percentage. Under Mullen? 58% and 23/6 TD/INT ratio. The sooner you learn that FSU is in for a long, long rebuild, the better. You definitely aren’t sniffing a win against UF this season, and probably not anytime soon. Mullen is out recruiting Willie badly right now, and let’s not even get into the coaching advantage he possesses. Mullen has never experienced defeat to FSU, but I think it’s so funny that you’re confident with absolutely no reason to be.
There is literally nothing that happened last season that should make you feel like you have any shot against UF. That was Mullen’s worst team he will have at UF and he went 10-3. The Gators doubled up the Noles in yardage and first downs and would have won 47-14 if Mullen had elected to kick FGs both times he was deep in FSU territory, and that was in Doak, and you think you have a prayer in the Swamp? Cute. Your program is a mess right now, a total crap show, and it’s not getting better anytime soon.

@Garfield – Again. You are getting very good at the mindset of a fan that is settling. Mullen had a high water mark in Starkville that included 3 losses in 2014. His team has never been in the Championship game and 4 of his 9 season at Miss State, he had 6 losses or more. That is almost 50% of the time. Sorry man, you are pissing up a tree and that will continue to be the case year, after year, after year, in Gainesville. Enjoy.

He truly doesn’t get it, lol. Willie T leads FSU to their worst season in decades, his team finishes 120th in the nation in pass defense, has one of the worst offenses in the country, and leads the nation in penalties, and he thinks everything is all fine and dandy. Believe me, UF fans know what a garbage coach looks like, we’ve been through two before Mullen came after Meyer “retired.” Willie T is a dumpster fire and utter trash as a coach: We know, we’ve seen it. Your team was beyond lucky to not go 2-10 or 3-9 last season, and you nearly lost to Samford, bro.
Mississippi State is historically an awful, awful program. Before Mullen got there, Sly Croom was their coach and left the program in disarray. The fact that he not only won there, but had them ranked #1 at a point in time and dominated in bowl games is a damn miracle. Saban sucked at Michigan State, too, but you don’t see anybody saying he can’t coach. Same with James Franklin at Vandy. Some places you can only do so much. Mullen is a damn good coach, his track record and resume speak for itself, and now he is recruiting at high level, too, while Willie is failing at all aspects. UF wins by 30+ next year, book it.

Pruitt sure looked good last year with a chance to go bowl eligible and getting blown out by Vandy. UF beat them 47-21, by the way. Matt Baker and his merry band of homos (no offense) decided to run a “Briles the new OC, is a bad guy and many FSU fans think so, even though it’s apparent he was just a guy doing his job” piece last week. You can’t see the video, couldn’t even tell who it was. But Tag was put in a position where he had to make a quick decision without being deferential to all of the info out there. Sucks for Dre, good for FSU.

Blackman or one of the other 20 QBs will figure it out. When Blackman played last season, he was the ACC player of the week, throwing for over 400 yards and multiple TDs. Best thing that could happen to FSU as it clears up who the front runner is. Briles’s offenses the past 3 seasons have been #1, #8, and #5 in the country. FSU will be fine.
