If we go anywhere its going to be because our d and brady limits the turnovers. I know he will put up points with our weapons here and there but it will be our D that will have to rise up and take games over. If they stay healthy and the secondary can improve then I think they could be good. Let’s see.

Our defense was on pace for a record amount of points given up at one point in the season. I think we will be in the 8-12 range on defense. Which should be enough to get us to the playoffs if Brady can stay healthy. Huge if.

Anyway… back to the defense.
It comes down to a few things:
– Devin White has to play as a top 10 LB. Otherwise that draft capital was wasted. I think he can if we mask his coverage deficiencies
– Barett and JPP need to get 20+ sacks between them IE not a huge regression
– Vea and Suh need to stay healthy and of course perform
– CBs need to continue to improve. If we have 3 solid corners in SMB, Dean, and Davis then our pass rush will be elite.
– bend but don’t break – how will we fare in the red zone?
– field position: limiting turnovers (this will obviously improve) but also punting was pretty bad last year…

Last season big on turnovers and sacks, but not interceptions. A lot of passes knocked down. Best way to improve is to turn those knock downs into interceptions

The starting units across all lines are looking promising but that depth is ugly. Licht needs to do something about it, especially front 7.
