Chip Kelly was Dominiks first choice; I actually wasn’t onboard with that. The guy I had my eye on was Mark Trestman; but anyways,Schiano also didn't get everyone he wanted; his first choices for O coordinator anyways. I think it will be interesting to see how many assistant coaches are a bit more interesting in joining Coach Schiano than when he first joined the team. This is of course supposing he doesn't get fired first. I've so far seen that he knows his talent; he's solved problems only for others to arise. People don't realize just how close it is from a loosing record to a winning record in the NFL. Coach Schiano probably does see where the problems are and can fix the problem. In the last game, the Rams shoved the ball down the Bucs throat; I left to go cut down a Christmas tree; the next thing I know, the bucs had stopped the bleading a little bit.  Zac Stacey had not rushed for three hundred yards(he was on pace); they made adjustments, and other things happened.  It was a tough game for both sides.  Once again, the problem was more the O, for which Coach Schiano once again doesn't have some of his first choices. Bringing in another coach just sets you back again. On Qb Glennon; I watched Drew Brees in San Diego; his first two or three years prompted the Gm to draft Philip Rivers . . .- One of the great things Gruden did was bring in players that weren't used that much, sitting on the bench behind others - Joe Jurivicious, Michael Pittman(maybe not a backup, but Gruden picked him up after Pittman's rookie contract), Greg Spires, Chris Hovan, Phillip Buchanon, Antonio Bryant.  These are players that have Nfl seasoning, something most rookies don't have.  But, they are also not worn down from being a starter all the time. Getting older players . . . you'd better do your homework, to see how much they have left.  Gruden did some good stuff there as well in Joey Galloway for instance.  Gruden wasen't so successful with the draft.  I'd like to see the current coaching staff find those second contract players more; in some ways, the Bucs(Coach Schiano) did; Te Crabtree for one, but he's probably the best one so far. The problem the bucs are having right now is inexperience.  We're getting out experiences right now.  Someone pointed out that Chuck Knoll could have gotten fired; but, he didn't, and the Steelers went on to win four superbowls.  I think that as this team gets more experienced, they'll shift that little bit, that difference between a winning season(and playoff team) from the loosing season(even the 4 and 12 seasons).  Plus, we're getting our Qb experienced.

He can't adjust at half-time so how exactly does he see problems or try to fix them? This guy is awful and how anyone would make excuses for him is beyond me.

He is way over his head, he has talent on this team, the largest coaching staff in history along with some pro advisers.  He just doesn’t have it , sometimes its just better to cut you losses  while you can so that you can move forward

Even if we won yesterday, I still would have wanted Schiano fired at the end of the season.

Schiano is the kind of coach that can keep it close, but his in game decision making is not smart enough to turn that close game into a win. I don’t think he coaches to the talent he has, or makes great in game adjustments. He was a average college coach and that translates to a below average Pro coach. I wanted Bruce Arians hired over Schiano, turns out I was right, but anyone who really thought a average college coach could come in here and make the Bucs perrenial playoff contenders was mistaken. The Glazers and Dom reached on this coach. As a franchise you can't reach for coaches or high first round draft choices, and the Bucs do both on a regular basis. It sucks to be a Bucs fan.

I disagree with your point on reaching. I think the glazers believe schiano will be a old coach. That’s not a reach that is conviction

Chip was dom’s first choice. Says a lot imo.And schiano should have lost his job after the jets game. I knew it was all downhill from there. It was so obvious.Buhbye schiano, thanks for the talented roster, but you gotta gtfo now.

Yep, and one of those things is if you have a below-average coach, it can turn a winning team into a losing team.  See: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Picking a College Coach who never won his conference, when he coached in the worst conference in football, is not a reach? It wasn't a good hire, and that reflective with his record.

Link? Do we know that? Do we know if Dom has been a decision maker for either HC?
