New York Jets may consider trading up for LB Anthony BarrBy Bryan Rose    SI.comApril 15th  2014barr_zps2deb5611.jpgThe Jets have the 18th pick, but former UCLA LB Anthony Barr is likely to go earlier than that. (Photo: Joe Robbins/Getty Images) The New York Jets could use some reinforcements in their linebacking core, so it’s understandable that they have their eye on UCLA’s Anthony Barr.Only problem for the Jets? Barr is one of the top linebacker prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft and likely won’t be available come the Jets 18th pick. Because of that, it’s possible the Jets may look into trading up if Barr starts to slip. Multiple teams are said to be eying Barr, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (No. 7), Minnesota Vikings No. 8, Tennessee Titans (No. 11) and New York Giants (No. 12) so the Jets will certainly have their work cut out for them if they’re to trade up and put themselves in position to draft Barr. Some mock drafts have Barr going as high as the seventh selection, though most have him going around the 11th or 12th pick. One thing working in Barr’s favor is his ability to play in either a 3-4 defense or a 4-3 defense as NFL scouts believe his stout play will give him success in either formation, though they do believe he’s best suited for outside linebacker in a 3-4 system. He has drawn comparisons to former Dallas Cowboys (now Denver Broncos) defensive end DeMarcus Ware thanks to his all-around skill set.

You would think they would want to get some more offensive skill players before Barr. Maybe they really want Evans? Could be smoke. if JFF, Teddy, and Sammy are all gone I would consider trading with them. If we could get their 2nd and our 4th back, that would be a good start.

Jets do know their defense. Barr is a baller.

Little experience, huge upside.  I could see Rex making a run at the guy.

They signed Vick and Eric Decker for what ever that is worth. Deep class at WR also so.

I wouldn’t do that trade unless all the qb’s, watkins, and evans are all gone by 7.

Barr = Ware? Lol. Not taking anything away from Barr but he doesn’t possess half the arsenal of .moves that Ware has. At this point, Barr wont command a double team like Clowney would.
