I would offer a 2nd round pick next year. We are thin at CB, this is a year where we could make a move into the playoffs if everyone stays relatively healthy.
If it doesn’t work out, we’ll have enough talent and older players to cut to offset a cap hit. However, if it does work out with Grimes sliding to nasty nickel, and our 5 DB/7 Front Mike Smith works to the plan, then we’ll have a buttload of sacks and INTs. Haden is good enough in the right system. By week 2 of the season, he’d pick up enough of this to be dangerous. Finding two relatively good DB’s to cover in man is worth the price.
Now or ??? boys. If I’m the GM, I pull the trigger.
Besides, we’d just waster our 2nd again on another kicker (just kidding).00No votes yet.Please wait...Aug. 29, 2017 at 9:43 pm #1021828superselmonParticipant

There’s a reason a talent-starved team like the Browns are trading their best CB – and it’s not because they need cap space.
There are a number of reasons for the Bucs not to trave for Haden:
1) There’s a reason the Browns are trading a theoretically in-his-prime Haden.
2) Haden has struggled with injuries and has never played a full season (although has played 15 games 3x).
3) Per a couple of Browns’ analysts hasn’t looked good in the preseason.
4) He’s owed $14.4/14.4/10.5 million over the next 3 years. The Bucs are going to have to be careful with the cap as they start to pay players like Evans.
5) He’s not starting over Grimes. Do you start him over VH3? No. So unless he magically returns to form (very unlikely) he’s a 4th CB.
I’d maybe trade a 4th. It’s not just Haden’s performance, but also his cap hit. Haden may have fallen off a cliff both performance and health wise. Do you want to trade a premium pick for a player that probably would be the 4th CB?00No votes yet. Please wait...Aug. 29, 2017 at 10:52 pm #1021836superselmonParticipant

If his performance declining is true, I wonder if he’d accept a “prove it” type contract. If that’s the case, than I’d bring him into camp in a heartbeat00No votes yet. Please wait...Aug. 30, 2017 at 8:51 am #1021872CalicoJack55Participant
