This week on 4th and 1 we go for it instead of kicking a fg.

Low and behold we lose by 3.
Thos guy just can’t get a game management decision correct.
It’s getting us a better draft pick for the new regime…. but it’s ridiculous how bad he is at game management

Going for it was the right call.

People are going to be either way.  Be aggressive.

I like the call to go for it but not the play that was called. Give it to Barber.

He doesn’t go for it and the OP would still complain.

Maybe the OP should have told Koetter he would need that 3 points at the end of the game so he could have kicked it there. We could have used the TD instead of a INT in the end zone as well.

Going for it was the right call. It’s not Dirks fault the big money C and LG can’t get a push and the defense gave up 96 yards without a fight.

      Going for it was correct

Shitty defense and Fitz going full retard cost us this game

why? he got a job he really wasn’t qualified for – competent OC, not HC –given the job w/ rationale that it would be best for Winston -well that hasn’t worked out.

Koetter is all but gone, but it 100% was the right call to go for it. The OL — mainly Dot and Benenoch — got stood up and therefore got zero push. It was a pathetic attempt by the OL.

As many have said it was the right call.

It’s about the process not result.

Yes our OL is good enough for us to rely on them to come through for us.
Def not 100% the right call
Did anyone watching the game actually think they were going to make it?

I like the call to go for it, I like the call to have Fitz keep it. Garbage pad level and Collins came through untouched. Looked like Barber took the play off. Hindsight is 20/20.

Was it Koetter’s decsion to go out and turn the ball over AGAIN this week?  To the tune of FOUR turnovers?  Didn’t think so.  Koetter is not the issue at all, aside from getting more talent developed on the D side of the ball and getting a QUALIFIED d-coordinator.

Over 500 yards of offense the last 2 weeks….but TURNOVERS negated things.  Find a QB that doesn’t turn it over and you’d likely be surprised how many of the losses would be wins, despite the defense.  Look at Kansas City.  Their D is nothing to write home about either, BUT, they do not turn the ball over on offense….last I checked, KC was 9-1 and class of the AFC.

To say it’s not koetters fault because he isn’t on the field is the most comical post I’ve read all year.
The guy is why we don’t have situational awareness or the basics drilled into them, or the culture to win.

You’re kidding right??? This man has his team inside the opponents 30 7,8x a game and our QBs make the stupidest decisions Ive ever seen. Maybe before the half when we were at NY 30 with :39 seconds you don’t throw a pick in the middle of the field. Taking away atleast the FG n momentum into the half- or driving inside N.Y. 35 n throwing a lob jump ball into 3 Giants and 5’9” Desean Jackson in the end zone??? Or what about the free pick 6 Giants got on a half submarine half side arm throw to a CB in your own end zone??? Dirk has had to overcome his QBs – 25 TO differential , lack of a running game, ZERO defensive help and missed chip shot FGs n xtra pts to the tune he’s on his 5th kicker in 3 yrs!!!!Suprised he’s not blown his head off- n people blame him????? The GM has not built ANY sort of DEFENSE in FOUR yrs!!! No consistency in the running game, no special teams help ( kickers drafted n paid decent FA contracts) and ZERO depth.Evans was a no brainer at #7 when we had no WRs, OBJ went few spots later. OJ Howard was to never get past 10 he was a gift, and JPP cus NY dumped the $$ was a no brainer when you have worst pass rush ever over 3 previous years!!!Koetter has found a way in SPITE of the QB play, no defense, no kicker, no dominant O line to form a very formidable run game to give TB an offense. They also played their butts off last December when they were out of it. Effort was there, just like it still is from everyone AROUND the QB- too bad they keep screwing it up!

I can’t figure out why most are excusing Koetter. Sure the players play but he and Licht have put this team together. They have put the players in place. Didn’t see excuses about the players not doing this or that when Lovie or any of the previous coaches were in place. Why is this guy getting a pass?

There is and has been plenty wrong with this team but it starts with Koetter and Licht. Adarius Taylor, no business starting. Devonte Bond, no business being on team. Vita Vea, no business being drafted when James was there for the picking. He has 1 tackle the last 4 games are you kidding me? Pathetic

Never was the smartest guy, but he did help develop Matt Ryan.

We had two 4th downs went for it both times and got 7 points. If we kick both we have 6 points. Do the math.

Why does Koetter get no blame for the defense from some people? It’s exactly due to Koetter’s hands off approach to defense and hiring the incompetent mike smith that got the bucs in this situation. The bucs have given up at least 38 points in every road game this year. This team needs to fix the defense before touching the offense.

Koetter didn’t help develop Matt Ryan, beside one good year(his 1st year there) Matt Ryan had Career high interceptions under Koetter, but everyone gets caught up in yardage and think he has this great offense. Matt Ryan also had his most passing attempts those three year cause Koetters offense does not know how to use a tailback.

Good point butters. I agree with that and through the booze I was fldribking during and after the game that slipped my mind. I’ll agree with the majority here, on that point
I completely disagree with the guy saying koetters done well.
Complaining about players making bad choices continuously falls on him not being able to correct the same mistakes. We consistently fallbehibd by double digits early…. that’s the sign of a shit coach,,,, whatever the reason.
Can’t wait until they’re all gone.

@diehardastheycome, isn’t it Durk’s job to ensure those same absurd turnovers, by preaching ball security and coaching these guys into not making the same mistakes, or at least, help them understand how to reduce the volume of stupid mistakes? Durk isn’t even very familiar with the nuances of the league rules. He is bad at clock management. He has helped put this team together. He hasn’t voiced the concerns about the defense we have (to his GM). He also kept that dud Mike Smith around for two seasons too long. The guy couldn’t coach the Rams defense into respectability.

Coaches have to have ways to solve these huge problems. The Nics cannot hang onto the ball, and when it comes to the RZ, the ball becomes a loaf of bread in Eric Dickerson’s hands. Just waiting to be slapped out or taken away. Just really bad okay calling and execution inside the 10/20 area. Awful.

Bottom line is, this is ultimately a coaching issue. Bad poorly schemed defense, poor use of timeouts, curious play calling, poor timing with the QB carousel…the list goes on and on.

Durk just is not a good head coach. The Bucs have stud weapons on offense, that’s it.
