30 Most Overpaid Players In The NFLoverpaid_zpsuycsq2rd.jpg by Luis Tirado Jr. 6h ago It’s easy to see why the NFL is flourishing when it comes to the insane amounts of revenue generated every single season. This, of course, trickles down to teams that now have to make smart decisions when it comes to handling their salary cap, contracts, and everything else that comes with seeking a return in their investment. Some teams get it right, while others shell out money to players that are either way past their prime, are inconsistent or never fully play a complete season due to injuries or distractions. Yet, they are still guaranteed their money regardless once the regular season hits.Without further ado, here are the top 30 most overpaid players in the NFL entering this upcoming season.30. Ryan CladyWhile the Denver Broncos believed that offensive tackle Ryan Clady would be a premier member of their offensive line, he unfortunately got hit with a torn ACL injury during practice back in May. Before his injury, his performance was on the decline as he couldn’t keep up with blocking assignments that were given to him. This was after the Broncos offered him a ridiculous 5-year, $52 million contract. His torn ACL injury will sideline Clady for the entire upcoming season as he’s scheduled to make $8.5 million for pretty much rehabbing himself to prepare for the 2016 NFL season. With an average annual salary of $10.5 million, the Broncos overpaid for a player that never delivered consistent results.29. Julius ThomasTight end Julius Thomas was one of the hottest free agents at his position this past off-season. He ultimately decided to take his talents to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and they overpaid for him with a 5-year, $46 million contract that will see him earn an average salary of $9.2 million.Unfortunately for Thomas, his regular season debut with the Jaguars took a turn for the worst as he will need surgery for an injured wrist that he sustained during a preseason football game. He will miss up to five weeks of the regular season.Thomas has had a history with injuries in the past, and the Jaguars probably should have thought about this before throwing all that money his way.vincent-jackson-nfl-tampa-bay-buccaneers-carolina-panthers-590x900_zpsvfi8eimp.jpg28. Vincent JacksonWide receiver Vincent Jackson has been in the NFL for a decade now and is safely a household name. Jackson might have totaled 1,002 receiving yards on 70 receptions last season but only scored 2 touchdowns. Considering his recent stats, the Buccaneers probably should have thought twice before finalizing the contract they gave him.Jackson signed a 5-year, $55.5 million deal with the Buccaneers and will earn a base salary of $9.7 million. Hopefully with the drafting of quarterback Jameis Winston into the franchise, it will help Jackson elevate his game since he looks like he is a player on the decline. It won’t be easy but Jackson has much to deliver if he’s to live up to the kind of contract he signed up for a few years ago.27. Jason Pierre-Paul doesn’t have a current contract so how can he be on the list?

I agree. That list, imho, is incredibly inaccurate. I also disagree with Jackson being on it. Yeah, he has a high contract; however, he has not been a bust. He does everything asked of him, as well as providing a veteran presence in the locker room. I'm sure there's other things he does for the team that I'm not aware. I don't think you can equate a players value on such a narrow scale that is used in this article. The logic breaks down.

And he makes a good chunk less than the other receivers getting paid. His production about equals his salary at this point.

If you’re a 1000 yard receiver I’m not worried about your contract.

Although he should be docked a game check everytime he let’s someone chase him down inside the 10 yard line.
