Stats are all from here: http://www.nflpenalties.com/team/tampa-bay-buccaneers?year=2015&view=games48 total penalties: 28 offensive, 18 defensive, 2 ST.Offensive Holding and False start account for 17 of the 48 penalties.Biggest offenders:J. Smith: 5G. Cherilus: 4ASJ: 3Mankins: 3Marpet: 3Hawley: 3Winston: 3Not on Roster: 4By position:Offensive Line: 13Defensive Backs: 8Defensive Line: 8Wide Receiver: 4Quarterback: 3Tight End: 3Linebackers: 1Defense had 5 in last two games, Offense had 9 and ST 1. We are currently the 2nd most penalized team in the league with 48, Minnesota is the least with 27. Average is 35.Pretty clear that the offense has to do a better job with avoiding penalties. We are averaging almost 10 penalties per game and league average is 7. We've given up about 80 yards in penalties more than the average team over the first 5 games.Just a FYI.

The penalties that kill us are the offsides, false starts, illegal formations, the ones that we can easily control. We need to be more disciplined in that regard. The other penalties will happen because players are trying to do their best and win their match up and sometimes those penalties happen but the silly ones are killers.

24 of the 48 penalties are on 7 players. 5 of those players play on the offensive line (including ASJ, since the TE lines up on or near the LOS). Koetter and Warhop need to do better. Also, we had 10! penalties at home last week, Jacksonville only had 3. That number, at home, needs to be reversed. We have also had more penalties than the other team in every game this year. We are also the most penalized team in their home stadium in the league.

Lovie is usually on the sidelines playing pocket fisherman, so im sure the defense isnt the only ones beating themselves.

I think with Dotson back, he will help stabilize the O-line and hopefully help them cut down on the laundry.
