Tampa Bay selects QB Derek Carr in PewterReport.com’s final Bucs’ 7-Round Mock Draft, but who will he throw to? Which WRs are slated to become Buccaneers? Which defensive players does Tampa Bay draft? Find out right here.https://www.pewterreport.com/index.php?option=com_k2&Itemid=20&view=item&layout=item&id=9780

i like the trade back but i dont like some of the picksi dont see us picking a QB in the 1st, doesnt fit Lovie's MO and we arent going to draft a qb in the 1st and not have him start from day 1. not gonna happeni absolutely HATE the Borland pick. the knock on him is that hes too slow and cant cover. Mason Foster has experience at MLB and hes considered too slow for the spot and hes faster than Borland. switch that for anyone else and its betteri dont like the Billy Turner pick and would rather we pick Trai Turner or David Yankey or Gabe Jackson to play OG. i like the Moncrief pick and the Richardson pick. i also like the larry Webster pick in the 7th

Why did you not address the OG position?  A 6th rounder is more depth than compete with Nicks, Cousins, and Meredith for a starting position unless you know something about this kid that we do not.

second that.it scares me that PR thinks this is a good draft.  it scares me more that they think L&L think it would be a good draft.i dont think there is really anything that carr does better than bridgewater on the field...or off the field.  except interview.  and pray.  and eat christmas dinners at the OCs house.3 WRs?  and a 5'8 MLB?love the idea of trading and getting an extra 3rd.  heck, id attempt to trade down again.  let dallas or chicago trade up for donald or whomever and gain another pick.

One of the worse things about this year’s draft is after waiting longer than usual, if it ended up with a result similar to PR’s latest mock, it would so much more disappointing. After waiting this long it would be ashame to come away from it with zero excitement (which is the way I feel about this mock)

I’m OK with some of the middle round picks, I like Moncrief… but with all the rumors surrounding us and Manziel and PR still thinks we prefer Carr. If the draft went the way they predicted before us then I’d have a hard time keeping my dinner down if we pass Teddy up for Carr.

If we get Carr with Teddy, Johnny or Blake still on the board, I will question the new regime, but support the pick. But maaaaaaan, that would be letdown city for the anticipation I have had leading up to this draft.

maybe it’s just because we’ve all spent so much time in the build up of this year’s draft… but if this was how it was to fall out over the next 72 hours, I’d be COMPLETELY disappointed…  I do have hope they get it right,  but the only thing I have to go on is how surprisingly well they worked it in Free Agency.  Here are favorites per position (approximate RDs) the day before the draft.  I've listed them in order of preference (How my board would be set up.)  QB (1-3rd)  Bridgewater, Garoppolo, CarrOG (2-5rd)  Cujo, Bitonio, YankeyWR(1-3rd)  Watkins, Evans, Cooks, Landry, MatthewsWR(3-7rd)  Herron, Archer, Huff, Robinson, Bryant, OLB(2-5rd)  Shembo, Kirksey,  FlowersDE(4-7rd)  Moore, Lynch, Lynn

I actually think Carr is underrated, but even at 10 I think it’s still too early. That being said, if that’s who Lovie wants, I will totally get behind the pick. Like the extra third and picking up a fourth. The picks made there are uninspiring to say the least.

Biggest knock on Carr, that to me makes him virtually undraftable, is that he wilted in big games.  Teddy, Garapolo, and JFF played their best when in big games….that’s the sign of a winner.  Wilting is the sign of a loser, it’s a mental makeup issue.

so he wilted against Boise or Rutgers?  I believe he lead his team from behind in shoot outs.  I’m talking both teams scoring in the 50s.

you also dont pay a guy 5mil especially if hes your guy to sit on the bench. he wants an immediate starter in the 1st and that doesnt strike me as a spot to pick one. i could see them going qb later if they move glennon but i highly doubt it in the first. i smell a smoke screenim praying for a tradeback and a selection of Cooks to get that speed in space element. if we pick Carr im going to be sick unless we trade back to the 49ers spot and get about 4 picks between the 2nd and 3rd round

I would grade this mock a B-.Problems I have with this draft:*As for value I don't se Montcrief as high 2nd rounder given that this is a deep WR class and he has a lot more flaws than most of the prospects slated to go in the first and early second round.  Brown is a return specialist but I don't think he is bad value given as a fifth round pick he is pretty good. *Chris Borland doesn't seem like good value in the third round but in the fourth it is worth the roll of dice.  In the third round you still have a selection of good WR's (deep WR draft), pass rushers, and cornerbacks.  Fourth round based on this mock seems more plausible IMO.*Gaines is nice because he will be a nice addition to a very talented CB unit that I think will be even better.  He has starting potential and probably my most favorite pick of this mock draft.*Webster has a lot of potential so a 7th on him seems reasonable. *Carr in the first makes sense with a trade down given he is the most ideal for the Bucs offensive scheme. *

Yeah but he will be there in the fourth.  No reason to burn a third on him IMO.Montcrief simply sticks out like a sore thumb in terms of value and terms of what is available.  In a deep WR class he should not be the top option at WR in the 2nd round unless there is a massive run on WR's in the first IMVHO.

Also, the Bears used a 1st rounder on Grossman the year before Lovie got hired and it took a couple years to completely rule him out as the answer.

Franky, to my unprofessional eyes, there isn’t any quarterback that I’m in love with and I’ve watched the provided tape on many of them and each has flaws that I can see will cause them to fail in the NFL. So frankly, if the Bucs chose Carr, I don’t have a problem with it, likewise, if it’s Manziel, I’m fine too. I was watching a NFL program a couple of days ago about the 1983 draft and how teams thought Marino had big holes in his game and passed on him. Hell, recently, Rodgers fell into the 20’s before the Packers took him.Ultimately, I think what will be the difference is how that player takes to coaching, how good the coaching is and how much time that player gets to sit and learn before playing. I honestly expect Derek Carr to be a much different quarterback than David Carr and I'm not a NFL quarterback coach to know if Manziel is or isn't the better choice.JMO.

I agree that Derek can/will probably be better than his older brother. I do think he actually is a solid fit for what we know of his system. He can get the ball out quick and accurately. However so can Teddy and JFF, I’d prefer either of them. If they took Carr at 7 I’d be pretty damned underwhelmed but a trade back for him makes this more palatable. 3 wrs seems a bit excessive, I think Murphy and Hawkins are good depth. One or two wrs is plenty. I also don't love the Borland pick. If we were to grab a MLB then why get one with the same weaknesses as Mason?!?

The original comment was that "wilting" was a sign of a "loser." Even if you accept your premise that Manning "continued to choke in big games in the NFL," its pretty hard to say he is a "loser"From 1998 to 2010, he led the Colts to eight (seven AFC South and one AFC East) division championships, two AFC championships, and one Super Bowl championship (Super Bowl XLI). His five NFL MVPs are a league record,[1] he was the most valuable player of Super Bowl XLI, has been named to thirteen Pro Bowls, has thirteen 4,000-yard passing seasons,[2][3] and is the Indianapolis Colts' all-time leader in passing yards (54,828) and touchdown passes (399). In 2009, he was named the best player in the NFL,[2][3] and Fox Sports, along with Sports Illustrated, named him the NFL player of the decade for the 2000s. Before the 2013 season had even finished SI had named him their Sportsman of the Year

I’m ok with Carr. Likely best pure thrower in the draft.  Has as much upside as anyone. Prefer Bridgewater because I like the mental side of his game more at this point. Moncrief is a good pick, not sure he is a raw speed in space guy but he is a solid looking WR. Not sure about the Borland pick. If we want to be atheletic he ain't it. Seems like a great fit for a 34 ILB more than a 43 MLB with the responsibilities ours has. Richardson is a guy I guess you can look at and see Deseasn Jackson if you squint enough. I prefer Herron for the slot/speed guy as he seems a bit more polished and less fragile. Gaines is a really nice pick. The 3rd WR is perhaps overkill on this need.  No idea about Pamphile and Webster has the physical freak angle I like in r7 guys.

I disagree. I think that he ends up being a mid-late 2nd rounder. We aren't taking him there though.Looking at the last three years of SRs final mocks...there has never been a correct selection. I hope that doesn't change this year....

Yeah. No idea how this mock had him available in the 6th round. Huff won't be there in the 5th either. Only way this mock comes true is if we trade back in the 2nd to gain a 4th and trade Glennon for a 3rd/4th. Then we might pull something like this off.
