Is starting to set in. Word is Schiano is schedule for a 2:30pm conference to address the media, and it won’t be to say goodbye. Can’t say that I’m surprised since this organization seems to embrace mediocrity. Everyone is talking about bringing in a new OC which is understandable but what about the defense? Why do those coaches get a pass?? Aren’t we still missing tackles? Giving up big plays in the pass and run? Committing stupid penalties? Missing assignments? Someone tell me what is there to look forward to next season? Do you honestly believe we have a chance to win the South with this staff??? That’s what our goal should be every year because winning the South guarantees a playoff spot. Going 9-7 or 10-6 doesn’t guarantee anything just ask the Cardinals. If Greg was to go 9-7 next yr many would be singing his praises, but where would that get us? Playoffs? Doubt it. The reality is next year we’ll be the same ol Bucs, still giving up big plays, still committing stupid penalties, and still finishing at the bottom of the division. Gimme a break smh

That is standard to have the announcement of the press conference it doesn’t mean anything. Word today from Mort and Schiano is there is a lot of uneasiness about the future of Schiano and Rapport said Glazer didn’t fly home with the team and he normally always does

Winning any division guarantees a playoff spot. You don't even need to say it "guarantees a playoff spot" that's implied when you win the division.

Just saw it, I hope they make the right decision.

This fan base is at a crossroads. If they bring him back and he wins, great, maybe some bandwagoners will come back. If they bring him back and he fails again, this fan base is going to disappear.

Even if he comes back and wins they'll lose a lot of fans just by letting him come back. It will take back to back winning seasons to get people back. Even then it will be a slow process unless they make the SB.

Exactly, that should have been our goal in Rah's second season and not "Race to 10".  My point is to win the division you have to keep up with the other teams and we're miles away from the rest.

There is no leadership on or off the field right now. We need a QB who can take charge, rally the troops, and produce when it matters as well as coaches who can make in-game adjustments and understand how to play the game to win. Maybe 2014!

Schiano is an old dog, and old dogs don’t learn new tricks….that’s why Schiano has to go.  He lack creativity and, frankly, balls on Sunday.  He attempts to fit square pegs into round holes over and over and over and over again and only pulls out the stops  when it’s too late.

Reality is Schiano will stay and I will have $1000 more in my bank account from not renewing my season tickets. Ray jay will be empty next year and I doubt the Glazer televise the games so the fan base dwindles even further. Even if he is fired there is no quick fix for this team as roster moves, bad drafts and bad player development has hurt this franchise for a long time. The Bucs, the Browns of the NFC

Until the Glazers come out and say that he will be the coach next season, his job is in doubt.

Watch out the Mythbuster's busted the myth "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". That said Schiano is just pigheaded and won't learn because he already knows it all.

Reality is, if the Glazers can find any shred of an excuse to keep the current staff, they will. The other Reality is that Buc fans got it rough

Carolina isn't even remotely close to the Buc's Fan base. The Buc's have the most fickle fan base of any NFL team. Teams like Boston teams the fans are there win or lose even decades of losing the fans are still there. You can look at Buc's history to see that. Years of losing looking like creamsicles then Dungy comes and we change the uniforms and people slowly start to come back. They didn't fly back with 1 winning season. ROFLMAO

I really wanted to be proven wrong about Schiano.  I still paid good money to go to a few games this year.  But he is a TERRIBLE coach.  There isn’t any wiggle room with that assertion.  He is a poor coach.  It all comes down to coaching and it is non-existent at One Buc.  I will not go to games next year if he is there. I will still wear my Buccaneer gear, but not at Ray Jay.

It's easy to be there for the team when it has a winning tradition. The Bucs had their window from 1996-2008, before that they were horrid for years. Combine that with the fact the Tampa area is a transient area with so many people from other places living here or living here part time, hard to build a loyal fan base like that. Places in the Northeast don't have that problem like the Bucs, Miami, Chargers, and Cardinals.

Reality for me is no more road trips down to Tampa with the family to watch games. The wife just laughs and says “you really want to watch that mess live” sadly  I’ve come to realize she is right.

Exactly. Transient people make it far more brutal in Tampa then anywhere else, period. It's one thing to be upset your team stinks it's quite another to stop watching all together. Carolina fans don't know what it feels like to be a Buc fan. New England fans will never know because they don't give up....ever!

Penn St will need to do the Bucs dirty work for them.  However, IF he is hired by PSU, how long will that take, and what HC candidates will be left by then?  I'd like to see them hire Lovie or Zimmer as HC with Norv or Chuds as the OC.  Bottom line, Im done with the Schiano era.  He has done nothing in the last 2 years that I want to see more of or worked on next year.

My wife went with me to the Philly game and had a blast, but even she asked me yesterday what the hell is wrong with the team.

Good.  I have no idea why a successful college coach, especially one playing in a town with nothing else around, would ever leave for the NFL.  I'm a huge NFL fan, but lets face it, nothing beats a HC job at a major college program.

In New England people go win or lose. It's about team spirit. Decades of losing and still people are fighting to get tickets in New England. It doesn't depend on winning but the type of fans. Nowadays the economy plays into it since Florida was hit so hard. Almost everyone I know comes from somewhere else so they root for non-Florida teams. It doesn't help Tampa is a small market as well and that's on top of a transient fanbase.
