      Some of you may be too young to remember, but he ruled the middleweight division in boxing in the ’80s. Hagler, Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Thomas Hearns were the most exciting boxers of that era. The heavyweight division was “meh” at that time but the middleweight division did not disappoint with very good matches.

        I remember that fight!! It was tense / brutal.

      It sure was. Hagler as a great fighter.

      I think that fight was actually the subject of negotiations that included things like ring size. IIRC Hagler was actually retired at the time

      He retired after that fight. It was Sugar Ray’s first fight after a 3 year lay off. You could be thinking of that. Regardless, thanks for the trip down memory lane.
