With the regular season schedule heavily rumored to be announced this week and with some teams having contests for guessing the schedule, I thought it’d be fun to throw out my guess (seen through pewter colored glasses, of course, but as realistic as I can think of) as to what the schedule-making gods will throw our Bucs’ way this year. I’d love a bye in Week 8, although with our luck we’d get the bye in Week 3 or 4.

I think we open on the road against a divisional opponent but we get a nice bye week (week 7) in return

It seems like we always freaking open on the road, but I’m sure every team’s fans feel that way lol. A bye week somewhere in the middle of the season would be refreshing. If we do open on the road I can see us opening against Chicago... that could be a fun game to kick the season off with.

Interesting thought having the Bucs in primetime at Chicago. The Bucs won’t get many primetime games (nor should they after last season) but that is definitely a possibility. At the very least the NFL could sell the Lovie (and Mccown) back to Chicago storyline.

We will have 3 of the last six weeks against division opponents. I think that’s a rule now.

Neither take into account that the league has been saving division games for the final weeks. A major revamp is in order.

Schedule release now planned for Wednesday, maybe ThursdayPosted by Mike Florio on April 21, 2014, 11:13 AM EDTnfl_20110430084558_640_480Getty ImagesThe NFL still doesn’t have a firm plan for the release of the 2014 regular-season schedule.  A source with knowledge of the process says the current target is Wednesday, with the possibility it will be nudged to Thursday. As of last week, Tuesday was the target, with a caveat that the release date could slide to Wednesday or Thursday. One factor that surely will influence the process is (or at least should be) the daily schedule of NHL and NBA playoff games.  By not releasing the slate of games last Tuesday, before the postseasons in basketball or hockey, the NFL squandered a chance to clearly own the day.Instead, the NFL will be trying to box out two other sports that have advanced to their postseasons.  If the league fails to build the kind of buzz it usually does by adding the “when” to the “who” and “where” for 256 regular-season games, guys like Mark Cuban will have another reason to crow.

I HIGHLY doubt the nfl will schedule us vs Washington week 1 since we got them week 4 in preseason…

It seems like we always freaking open on the road, but I'm sure every team's fans feel that way lol.

Actually, last year was the first time we opened on the road since 2008.

Interesting thought having the Bucs in primetime at Chicago. The Bucs won't get many primetime games (nor should they after last season) but that is definitely a possibility. At the very least the NFL could sell the Lovie (and Mccown) back to Chicago storyline.

That's the one thing I'm absolutely sure about, that the game at Chicago will be a primetime game. There was a reason we opened at the Jets last year (Revis), but Lovie v. Chicago is an even better storyline.I adjusted my prediction to account for the oversight on Washington (although last year we had New England in the preseason and then very early in the regular season) and for the divisional games thing:W1: Sun 9/7 1:05p at PittsburghW2: Sun 9/14 1:05p AtlantaW3: Sun 9/21 1:05p at WashingtonW4: Sun 9/28 1:05p CincinnatiW5: Sun 10/5 1:05p at New OrleansW6: Sun 10/12 1:05p at DetroitW7: Sun 10/19 1:05p St. LouisW8: BYEW9: Thu 10/30 8:25p Green BayW10: Sun 11/9 1:05p at CarolinaW11: Mon 11/17 8:30p at ChicagoW12: Sun 11/23 1:05p BaltimoreW13: Sun 11/30 1:05p at AtlantaW14: Sun 12/7 1:05p MinnesotaW15: Sun 12/14 1:05p CarolinaW16: Sun 12/21 1:05p at ClevelandW17: Sun 12/28 1:05p New Orleans

I am not going to make a prediction about the schedule.  I would have a better chance predicting who the Bucs will draft. One interesting note about the schedule is road games at Chicago, Pittsburgh, Washington, and Cleveland. There is a decent chance we might get a snow game.
