    Maxwell is worth a look.

He excels in cover 3 but struggles with m2m because he free lances. But if he sticks to assignments he is a beast in m2m.

I found this story out of Miami.

    http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article180822541.html

He was inactive the past four games and he wasn’t totally healthy — appearing on the injury report with foot or other ailments. And, shockingly, as he sank further back on the shelf, Maxwell didn’t improve in practice.

    Quite the opposite.

And here’s where we start to see the failure on all sides: Maxwell didn’t respond to his 2017 benching the way he responded in ‘16. He didn’t correct what he was told to correct — like not playing coverages coaches expected him to play. His confidence seemed diminished as well.

He wasn’t the same guy. He was the guy the Eagles dumped after 2015.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bucs aren’t dangling DJax out there as trade bait for a elite DE.

Maxwell didn’t want to play the scheme he was asked to play in Miami. So what makes folks think he would be happy here?

Hopefully there’s some back channel stuff going on between the Bucs and his agent to find the answer.

That’s a nice thought, but what team would trade an elite DE for a #2 WR? Has there ever been such a trade?

Maybe with the Texans, Broncos, Giants, or Seahawks.

Might take a little more to get a couple of those guys.

That’s why I said it might take a little more. Like a draft pick.

    A side note from NFL.com
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Buy Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Jeremy Bergman: Despite being two games under .500, Tampa Bay still considers itself a playoff contender in the wide-open NFC South. The Bucs’ defense just needs to be more consistent and get off the field on third down. Tampa Bay has issues in the secondary. While playing T.J. Ward more (provided the Bucs don’t follow Edward Lewis’ advice in the Cowboys blurb above) might solve that problem, the Bucs can address their immediate concerns at nickel with a trade for an unhappy veteran corner on a dysfunctional team.

    Potential compensation: 2018 fourth-round pick

I’d trade a 4th for DRC. Trade for him and sign simeon rice, boom. 2002 defense all over again baby!
