InactiveJul. 6, 2020 at 4:05 pmPost count: 21938THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS HAPPENING
House Democrats and a New York state prosecutor are separately trying to get Trump’s accounting firm to turn over his financial records, material that could include the tax returns he has long refused to release publicly. The House committees are also subpoenaing the president’s banks.
If the House loses (and it might) it would be a setback for Congressional oversight and Presidential politics/elections going forward BUT. . .
the much biggeR case is the Prosecutor’s case precisely because Trump has had to argue that he is LITERALLY above the law:
“Trump contends presidents should have absolute immunity from state criminal investigations while in office to ensure against unwarranted distractions.”
A President could murder someone on national television and not be charged?
Besides, I think that Trump is being investigated for conduct BEFORE he was President

helps Trump for November but appropriately crushes him long term
No absolute immunity (obviously) but District Court should reconsider
Trump 0-2 with his own appointed justices ruling against him but still good for Trump for now on second case

Today’s decisions by the Supreme Court sadly will not end the Democrats’ partisan obsession. Americans around the country deserve better than the Democrats' never-ending political games.

Trump asserted the absurd “absolute immunity”
A conservative court rejected it definitively
Jordan says Dems are to blame, not the guy who caused the investigation or the litigation

….No Republican Senate Judiciary response, NO “JUSTICE”, NO FBI, NO NOTHING. Major horror show REPORTS on Comey & McCabe, guilty as hell, nothing happens. Catch Obama & Biden cold, nothing. A 3 year, $45,000,000 Mueller HOAX, failed – investigated everything….

We catch the other side SPYING on my campaign, the biggest political crime and scandal in U.S. history, and NOTHING HAPPENS. But despite this, I have done more than any President in history in first 3 1/2 years!

“ “On the ruling today, the Supreme Court is rejecting this assertion from the president that he is immune to investigation while in office,” CNN’s Kaitlan Collins noted. “Does he agree that he is not immune?”
“He still maintains his initial position,” McEnany replied. “He takes issue with the point that with the majority made on absolute immunity but, nevertheless, I would underscore the victory here.”
