The GOP has become so brainwashed by decades of hate and fear that they are no longer capable of distinguishing right from wrong. Their constituents have gotten their daily dose of hate from right-wing talk radio that they hate Democrats more than anyone on the face of the earth. They’ll willingly elect, follow, and idolize a man who has only one goal: to become America’s Putin. Fascism is just fine with Trump voters because then they’ll finally be able to treat others (read “people who don’t look or act like them”) the way they should be treated.

And the elected GOP officer-holders are truly the lowest. Every last one of them know who and what Trump is, but they’ll gladly kiss his ass or any other thing Trump tells them to in oder to keep their powerful job. They’ll suck anything to keep that job title – to Hell with the stinking USA or the damned Constitution!

They’re sick, very, very sick. And I fear that the cure will come only with the cost of countless American lives.

My wife and I own multiple small businesses in our small city. I’m a college graduate and my wife has some college experience. We pay insurance for our employees and also have paid for many emergencies our employees have experienced over the years. We volunteer at many functions for charities and special events in town on a regular basis. My wife and I also voted for Trump twice.

I don’t know where you get your information from and I really don’t care. Why you choose to comment about politics on a sports entertainment/ sports news website does concern me. Your decision to mix sports and politics does nothing but divide us as citizens of this country and as Buccaneers fans.

Your outburst ridiculing and condemning people who have a difference of opinion with you is merely a microcosm of the larger divide in this country caused by the mainstream media news and entertainment industries. You read what you read, you hear what you hear, and you live in your own little bubble associating people who hold the same opinions as you. You are as intolerant and hateful of people with different opinions as the rest of liberal / progressive Democrats in this country.

I live in the real world, associating with both people I agree with as well as those I disagree with vehemently on the subject of politics. I like most of the people who disagree with me and they like me as well. Unlike you, I don’t spend most of my time thinking about how much I hate the Republican Party and the people who vote for Republicans.

I’m not going to bother debating you about politics. I’m as likely to change your mind as you are of changing my mind, and I’m perfectly okay with that. What I’m not okay with is the complete lack of basic human respect you and other progressives you show towards people who disagree with you. This cannot continue to go on without bad things happening to this country as a result. I’ve mentioned over the past 15 years in polite company on several occasions that I think this country is heading towards a second civil war unless things change for the better. My wife used to think I was nuts about this opinion, right up until the past few years (and especially the past year). She no longer thinks I’m crazy, at least not about my political opinions.

I’ve taken great pains to not insult you in this response. I don’t expect you to show me, or anybody else who disagrees with your politics, the same courtesy. Just remember that you reap what you sow in life, whether that’s about politics or anything else. Hatred and intolerance will only generate an equal or greater response from those who disagree with you in the long run. And for the sake of everyone else, stop bringing politics into sports conversations.

I admit my post was wrongfully all-inclusive. I apologize for that. I know that there are many, many fine folks who vote Republican for reasons other than hate and fear. Most of my family are Republicans, and they are fine, polite people who generally treat others with respect. But they are sick.

The GOP used to be a respectful political party that believed in democracy, the rule of law, and the U. S. Constitution. After years and years of Rush Limbaugh and his ilk, that changed. The powers that ran the GOP decided that hate and fear mobilized and energized voters like nothing else, so they fed them a steady diet of it. The GOP was taken over by the Tea Party people who believe it must be their way or nothing. Compromise became a dirty word, with any and everyone who would come to any agreement with the enemy Democrats was forced out. And the hate faction of the GOP festered constantly beneath it all.

Then along came Donald Trump, the pathological lying, mentally ill, con-man dictator wannabe. He out-hated the Party of Hate and stole the damned party right out from under the noses of the GOP powers. He openly fostered the hate groups and used them, along with the Bible-thumpers, and the gun nuts (who “would rather cut <their> own throat(s) than vote Democrat” to victory in 2016.

And good people like you went right along. You might justify your vote for the party hate and fear for financial reasons, or for any one of a number of other things. You might say you had no idea Trump was such a narcissist that wants power for life. But the simple fact is that the GOP is currently a fascist party seeking authoritarianism for the United States of America and those voting GOP for any reason are enabling them.

It’s time to put the nation before anything you’re currently using to justify voting for the GOP. If you can’t see your way to that, then you are just another one of the sick.

And I mean that in the most respectful of ways. Sincerely.

Unfortunately this is a black and white issue.

Either you think the election was stolen and support sedition (the cult)

      or

      You’re an American

Guess who holds the purse strings for the entire Republican Party? If you don’t kiss Trumps, behind you will be left behind. The MAGA show isn’t over. Its just getting warmed up, and there’s no Vaccine for MAGA. Well the only vaccine will be if the Republicans get trounced in 2022 because they are driving away the middle.

So sell your soul to Trump, or keep it and find another job. To me the choice is easy. Give me a mop or a lawn mower or a socket wrench. I’ll push some shopping carts at Walmart before I have to kiss that guy’s ass. But that’s just me.

It was a respectful statement of fact. Brainwashed or ignorant. Period.

Should I assume you’re in that group yourself?

I know a lot of people who did also but won’t a third time if the opportunity arises. What say you?

This is not about political positions. This isn’t about liberal vs. conservative. Its about one thing: The Big Lie and whether America will stand for it. Or will they take a stand against it. It’s a choice every American has to make. There is only one right choice if you want to save our Democracy.

Liberals and Conservatives who love this country can’t abandon it now as we watch people using UV lights looking for Chinese watermarks, giving conspiracy theorists Trumpians free reign to count votes after Trump already told people to “find” votes. Oh they’ll find them right out of thin air. You can’t tolerate this. This is an attack on our Democracy. You have to take a stand against this.

I don’t care what the cultists tell themselves to rationalize being fake americans.

They’ve been brainwashed. They have a disease…a sickness.

Thank god most are old white angry people that will be dying off in the near future.

Once that happens the younger more enlightened generations will continue the Great American Experiment. Most Trumpers are boomers and one generation removed from segregation. They can’t help being racists. It will all be changing over the next decade. Texas goes blue and it is all over for the GOP.

I’ll take the back handed sorta compliment. :)

I do consider myself Conservative, as you know, but would never be a cultist. Metaphorical or otherwise. The way I look at my viewpoints are how the ACLU used to be. To try and pick the correct stance regardless of how popular it is or isn’t, or who with.

What I was highlighting upstairs is the “we need to be civil and come together for the good of the country you f*cking idiots”.

      Somewhat self defeating IMO.

The angst is the selling point. It’s a song that can’t resolve because resolution is the demise of maga.

        It needs a common enemy.

        Deep state
        Immigrants
        Democrats
        Socialism
        Wokeness

Meaning MAGA inherently cannot resolve or else it imploads on itself.

There is no unity thinking anymore… I think it’s gone. Now it’s just pure politics. Left vs right until the middle gets popular (which it won’t).

        A bridge too far…

And fwiw, I do think you’re quite intelligent, which is what makes your stance so much worse.
