Florio’s speculation on PFT about Smith preferring to trade down vs. drafting a QB wouldn’t surprise me in the least if true. Smith is so risk-averse it’s just funny at this point. The Glazers would have to force his hand if they're deadset on getting a QB.

Apparently Lovie doesn't want to be coach here for much longer.  >:(

Yeah, well, the damage will still be done and we'll be left STILL with an embarrassment for a team.We may suck and pick high again, but when is the next time we'll have the NUMBER ONE OVERALL PICK and a chance to draft a potential franchise QB?? lolLovie (again, if this is true) is going to leave this franchise STILL in ruins.  Even when given every good opportunity one would need to turn this thing around.

Absolutely and Lovie seems so resolute that he'll be a stubborn turd with licht about it without the G men stepping in.

I could see a scenario where in a handful of franchises the HC would want Winston but the GM would want Mariota.

How many franchises (that don't have a QB) would say, nah neither of them, I wan a DE.

The Texans have done that very thing. Twice. Once by drafting Mario Williams over Leinart and Young (and also Reggie Bush) and then Clowney last year.

How many playoff games have they won now? They had a decent QB the first time around though so that's not a fair comparison. This past year was a head scratcher but the QBs in 2014 draft were pretty crap compared to Winston/Mariota and none were worthy of the pick.

Totally believable that Lovie is in the draft DL or trade down camp. Its his MO.

How many first round picks has Lovie spent on defensive linemen?

No need to worry guys--Megabucs fan, the omniscient one, says he knows for a fact that Lovie prefers Marcus.

No need to be so snarky about it.https://mobile.twitter.com/movethesticks/status/565040021539799040Guys it's just smokescreen season.  Relax.  It is Mariota.  And there was never any doubt.  It's just a way to gauge the trade market for the pick.  Smh...

This clearly involves Lovie bringing the 5-2 back.  Old school, indeed.

All for the trade back, but wasn’t it said that if Lovie and Licht couldn’t agree about a player they remove him from the draft board? If so, that would seem to mean that they disagree with each other about QBs, so does that mean they have removed the QBs from the board now?

I think that statement was made when they still thought they'd be running the ball through the A gaps...
