    While Winston, Rivers, Brady etc will cost 25-30 million per year, a rookie QB will be 5 million a year max.

    The first argument would be that we are mortgaging our future and we are not just a QB away. But what if we were?

    What if.. instead of committing 30 million to a QB, we resign JPP, Shaq, and Suh. Then go out and sign a starting RT and a FS, maybe a veteran CB too. Our defense would be ready to roll. Offensively we could use another RB, and possibly a #3 WR depending on the Perriman situation – but for the most part the only big hole on the team would be QB.

    A jump from 14 to 3 (Detroit) would probably cost our 1st and 2nd round picks both this year and next. Yes, that is a lot. But we are talking about the final piece of the puzzle. I think Herbert should be that guy, but I wouldn’t be mad if it was Tua either.

    Plus, remember that we could easily recoup this year’s 2nd round pick by trading OJ Howard. We could use that pick to take another RB/WR/OL.

    I don’t believe we should keep Winston and the more I think about Rivers/Brady the less I see them in Tampa. Brady is staying in New England, all of this free agency talk is just for leverage with New England. Rivers is going to Indy where they have a good OL and an offense he is familiar with. Besides, those guys are statues and this downhill, vertical passing offense needs a guy who can move and extend the play. Unless Arians has a QB crush on Marcus Mariota, we need to go with a rookie. Herbert has the size, the mobility, and the arm to lead this offense, and the QB whisperer will work his magic like he did with Manning, Roethlisberger and Luck.

    The ball is in your court Bucs, make the right decision.

    Nope. If you don’t like reading my posts I’m sure there are some curious George books that are more on your level.

    @ronaldmacdonald

    You are the epitome of the guy who throws shit at the wall hoping it sticks. There’s a reason why u are the most laughed at poster on this board, and your predictions…my GAWD… are always a catastrophic fail.

    You’re lucky this site gives me an error message when trying to dig up when I exposed all your dog shit predictions.

    I’m pretty sure that if the Bucs are interested in any of the top 3 QB’s in this draft they will have conversations with any team picking before them for possible trade up scenarios. Personally I think if this type of trade were to get done it would be for picks and players. Giving up multiple 1st and 2nd round picks is crazy.

    Let’s hold off on draft trade talk until we see what happens on March 10th and in Free Agency March 18th.

    How about not trading up… staying put and drafting Jacob Eason? Everything you said would still be smart to do in terms of signing our free agents and letting Winston walk and not shelling out big money to a Free Agent QB by drafting a rookie… and we also don’t have to give up a bunch of draft capital to get a question mark (all rookie QB’s are question marks).

    Hell Eason may be available with a late 1st… we may be able to trade backwards and pick up more picks. Tua may slide due to injuries and could be had at 14… at this point we don’t know. I’m not sold on Herbert… I damn sure ain’t sold on trading up to get Herbert.

    No thanks.

    Would be a win now move and how often does a rookie QB come in and light it up? Much rather trade down and take a shot on a QB late first round of the team wants to move on from Winston.  Acquire some extra picks and get the offensive line right.

    No. Winston will be back. Stop convincing yourselves otherwise.

    I too would prefer Eason to Herb. Eason could be had at 14 or later.
