Vea has bee having some intense workouts and the #GoBucs believe there is a very good chance he will be able to help against the Packers strong rushing attack. But a final decision won’t be made until later this week.
-
Maybe a few plays. No way he’s in football shape.
-
They say he has been working out
-
Cardio/football shape are closely related but very different as well. A few plays here and there would be my guess.

I can confirm Bucs are designating DT Vita Vea to return off injured reserve. He's missed three months since fracturing his ankle in Week 5 against the Bears. Can practice Wednesday, could play Sunday in NFC Championship Game at Packers. @NFLstroud had it first.

This would be huge

-
If we got Vea back and at a level he can make an impact. Would be huge!
-
I mean the big thing w this news is IF we can win next week then he gets 2 weeks to get right for the SB.
-

For the Super Bowl, yes. He’ll be on obvious rushing downs, but I wouldn’t put him in at the end of the halves because GB can exposes his lack of endurance. That’s the difference between being in shape and being in football shape.
-
Anything he can give will be a plus,he is a huge part of this d
-
This is great news no matter how you slice it. I’ll take whatever we can get from him.
-
He will help wear out their intensely talented linemen.

Yea would be good to ease him back in and I feel like we can do that since our d line has played well.
-
He deserves to get in on playoff action, much like how Evans was not getting held out of the Washington game.
-
I hope they ease him back into the rotation on pass downs first. That’s where his impact this week could be huge. Keep him from having to hold ground as much as possible.

Heck yeah!!! This is great news.
Stop with all the armchair Team Trainers. You don’t know what you’re talking about in regards to his health or conditioning or anything.
We can easily play him on first downs and pull him for obvious passing downs. This is a relatively easy plug in as defensive line is one of the more heavily rotated positions.
-
Even if he is in there for 20 snaps. This is HUGE!
-
Packers running backs just started to sweat again
-

Packers running game isn’t all that. They just looked good against LA. Tampa will shut them down.
-
I posted yesterday extremely joking that Vea was gonna make a Bobby Bouchay type of comeback entrance for the Bucs and give them the lift over the top to win a championship. Did I predict the future? LOL. If nothing else this would be a huge emotional lift for the entire team! Whatever he can contribute would be welcome.
-
Lets temper our enthusiasm for now. He’s been marked as “designated for return” which means he can come back to practice on Wednesday and the team has 21 days to decide what to do with him.
Obviously the coaches are going to make the decision based on how he does in practice this week. If they determine he’s a bit too rusty, they could keep him inactive for this game but bring him back for the Super Bowl.

Having Vea back would be huge. I think our pass rush can get to Rodgers. They did the last time and Suh is in Rodgers head.
-
WOW! Awesome news. I agree that even 15-20 plays from Vea, could be difference makers. Might finally see JPP/Shaq get to the QB again.
Rooting for ya big man!

Green Bay had the 8th rushing offense in the league. They’ve been pretty damn good.
-
At the very least, it’s something Green Bay now has to think about. Vea can be a beast to handle.
-
Per auman
Vita Vea is out here at practice, hanging out with other defensive linemen, looks fine
-
Let’s not forget that when we played the packs Vea was already out for what was seemingly the entire year… so this could be a big boost as their running game is firing on all cylinders and we could use Vea to plug up the middle.. love the move of he’s able to go.
-
We ended the year with the #1 rush defense.
With a healthy vea we were allowing 53ish rush yards per game.
Without him? 93ish.
He was definitely missed! He will help make then one dimensional, no question.
-
Obviously, I’m happy to hear that he’s been recovering nicely.
But, I’m hoping they keep him on a snap count for precautionary measures.

If this was the regular season 100%
This is the NFCCG. If he wants to play every snap, let the man do it.

And, if I’m the HC, I don’t care what he wants.
I care about him long term.
I’m limiting his snaps.
If we win, he gets an addition week and a half for conditioning, recuperating, etc. and perhaps the snap count goes up.
