Minnesota Vikings give Ragnar the heave-ho by Dan Zinski 2h ago ragnar_zps2ttcbllx.pngFor years the wild-haired, motorcycle-riding mascot Ragnar has been a fixture at Minnesota Vikings home games, but crazy Ragnar’s run appears to have come to an end.Yesterday fans at the game noticed that Ragnar, real name Joseph Juranitch, was not out there at TCF revving his bike, dancing with cheerleaders and basically acting like a maniac.Where was Ragnar? Sleeping it off after a long night of swilling ale, sacking villages and having his way with multiple fertile women? No. Turns out Ragnar was at home watching the game on TV. Apparently the Vikings let Ragnar know that he is no longer welcome at their games.Ragnar posted this on Facebook:ragnar1_zpschkqflzn.pngragnarSo that’s it? Ragnar is done after all these years? No explanation or anything from the team?I guess the Vikings just hoped nobody would notice. Way to treat a guy who was a great ambassador for the team and a fan favorite for all these years.I don’t know what was behind the decision to get rid of Ragnar but I can guess.I bet somebody with the organization decided that a big guy dressed in furs with huge comical horns on his head might be interpreted as an offensive stereotype and they decided to get out ahead of it and give him the boot.I bet the PC police got Ragnar. If that’s truly the reason for Ragnar’s ouster, then what does that mean for the Norseman logo? Isn’t that also technically offensive the same way the Redskins logo is offensive?Isn’t the name “Vikings” also arguably offensive? And while we’re on the subject of offending people with in-stadium entertainment: I know a lot of women are offended by cheerleaders. Do we get rid of cheerleaders now for fear of angering feminists?I’m sure there will be some backlash against the Vikings over this move. We’ll see if they offer any explanation or try to sweep it under the rug.Don’t despair Ragnar. You’re not the first person to be treated like crap by the Vikings. Antoine Winfield feels your pain.U.S. Bank Stadium to have Mamava 'lactation suites' by Adam Carlson 4h ago ragnar2_zps8ipi5j0h.pngMothers attending U.S. Bank Stadium will have a safe and private place to take care of their lactation needs. In a very progressive move, the Minnesota Vikings have partnered with Mamava to install four “lactation suites” in U.S. Bank Stadium, the future home of the team.  The official Minnesota Vikings website offered the following statement from Chief Operating Officer Kevin Warren:“Creating a family-friendly environment and a positive experience for all fans at our football games is paramount to the Minnesota Vikings. While we certainly encourage breastfeeding mothers to nurse where they feel comfortable, we have become increasingly aware of the need many moms have for the privacy and comfort that these Mamava lactation suites provide.”The decision to partner with Mamava for the lactation stations at U.S. Bank Stadium is one that both sides of the situation gave a lot of thought to.  Sascha Mayer, the co-founder of Mamava, also issued a statement about the partnership.“Until now female NFL fans who have wanted privacy for feeding have had to nurse or pump in a bathroom, or worse yet, stay home due to the lack of amenities for nursing. We believe that all mamas deserve a safe, clean and comfortable place to use a breast pump or breastfeed – anywhere, anytime. Mamava pods provide flexibility for facilities and easy access for moms.”Providing these stations is a great way to allow moms in the stadium to both relieve the pressure of lactation or feed a young child without worrying about the possibility of gawkers and critics.  Public breastfeeding has been a hot-button issue for several years now, and for the Minnesota Vikings and U.S. Bank Stadium to offer something like a lactation suite should help put an end to that kind of controversy. This is a major step for the NFL and I’m glad that the Minnesota Vikings and U.S. Bank Stadium are taking the initiative to be at the forefront of this progressive movement.  Bravo, Vikings.link

I heard he was making like $1,500 per game and asked for a raise to $20,000 per game. They didn’t even counter. They said goodbye. Seems a bit much to ask for to ride a motorcycle into a stadium when firefighters, police, and teachers make so little.

Can’t remember where, but I read somewhere that he was asking for 30k per game and the Vikes were only willing to go 20k so the divorce happened.

I have a friend who is flying 14 hrs with her husband and 3 month old to vacation in South Africa for 2 weeks. Some people don't let the fact that they have an infant slow their lifestyle. I can't say that I agree.

We are talking about two completely different things here. At a resort in South Africa you don't have drunk 20-30 year olds dropping the f-bomb every 5 seconds, spilling beer all over the place (possibly on you and your infant), and getting into fist fights. I'm sure your friends will keep their baby in a nice, secure, & quiet place. I'm sure that they will routinely comfort it, and give it formula/breastmilk throughout the day.I mean, infants are scared enough in a movie theater or on an airplane. But at a football game? Imagine how terrified that 3-month old would be after hearing the cannons go off? What if the people next to you got in a fist fight or started throwing stuff at each other and your baby got injured? And would you seriously make your newborn sit in 90+ degree weather for 3+ hours? The whole idea just seems neglectful TBH.... Yes, you have a child now. Yes, You have more responsibilities. No, you cannot do whatever you damn please any more. If people can't live with that they shouldn't be having kids.  /rantover

Football is great, and I love the Bucs (have to keep the rant football related) ......Once again, public servants  and teachers are paid out of your tax dollars, lets pay them all 100,000 per year, you can start by funding that with your taxes.  Only the police generate revenue by seizing peoples property and putting SIN TAXES on all of us for speeding and traffic violations....DUMBEST ARGUMENT  REGARDING THE PAYMENT OF ATHLETES WHO GENERATE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BY THEIR SKILLS,  is the whole Teachers don't get paid enough bullish__.  Nonsense, work 9 months out of the year, get a pension after retiring that NO ONE gets in the private sector....my retirement is what I save, no one giving me sh-- for the future, jsut knock it off and feel sorry for someone else.

interesting thread for the cove.  sounds like an awful idea to me!  14 hours for a 3month on a plane?  yikes.  hope its first class.  hope the family is from SouthAfrica.  hope they did a lot of research.  hope its not their first kid.  i aint trying to judge, i just hope they have their ducks in a row and know what they are getting into.  but i definitely think children should slow adults lifestyles!

Ok gentlemen…women who have recently given birth often need to pump regularly…or they will leak.  So a woman can leave her infant at home with a sitter, but still need to pump.  I’ve yet to see an infant at Ray Jay.

These suites, are they, “You have to go here,” or are they, “These are available for you?” The gal might just need to release some pressure, may not actually have kid at the stadium. While your experience at the stadium might not be kid friendly, I've been to plenty of games where it's quite family friendly. In fact it's kind of expected. Standing is starting to be frowned upon. Think about that for a second. West Club 8 dolla! Go Bucs!

This guy wanted $20K/game to ride his motorcycle around. This isn’t PC. It’s simple basic business. He isn’t worth what he thinks he is.

Seriously???? Making it sound like teachers have it made with their pensions? GTFOH! You clearly have no clue how little they are paid and how piss poor those pensions are. Just because you got F'd in the private sector losing pensions doesn't mean everyone should. Instead of crying about their pensions, you fight to get one back. BTW, Ragnar wanted 20K per game. How is that left out of that story???

yes, an infant is required to have a ticket purchased.  Even a new born incapable of sitting in a seat is required to have a seats purchased.

Haha brutal.  And probably true. Also, I second that "GTFOH" aimed at zell.  Dude I don't think you're aware of what kind of (censored) you have to put up with as a public school teacher... idgaf how good that pension is... And 9 months out if the year? LOL. Also keep in mind, you started your whole rant because the whole teachers don't get paid jack is the "DUMBEST ARGUMENT  REGARDING THE PAYMENT OF ATHLETES WHO GENERATE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BY THEIR SKILLS"... well we're not talking about athletes here, dumbass, were talking about a harley riding mall Santa trying to negotiate himself a 160k a year salary
