      Last night the Park Police had a confrontation with protesters trying to tear down the Andrew Jackson statue in Lafayette Square

      Obviously Jackson is a controversial figure for many reasons (slave owner, statute built by slave), but protesters attacking his statute should not come as a surprise, right . .. .because Trump egged them on way back in 2016

      What was one of trump’s first acts, actually BEFORE he was President?

      “Harriet Tubman $20 bill no longer coming in 2020: Mnuchin says redesign postponed”

      This was Trump in 2016

      “President Donald Trump, months before he was elected, called the decision to put Tubman on the currency “pure political correctness” and proposed putting her portrait on the $2 bill.”

      PEOPLE ARE NOT IDIOTS. TRUMP GOT ELECTED, IN PART, BY PLAYING TO RACISTS AND HE’S ACTUALLY DOUBLED DOWN ON IT MULTIPLE TIMES. the Tubman $20 is just one example. “put her on the $2,” says Trump!

      LOL, so last night became, in Trump’s words . . “BAD PEOPLE” versus a “GREAT MONUMENT”

      Trump told reporters Tuesday that law enforcement stopped an attack on a “great monument” and said “numerous people are in jail and going to jail today.”

      “We are looking at long-term jail sentences for these vandals and these hoodlums and these anarchists and agitators and call them whatever you want. Some people don’t like that language, but that’s what they are. They’re bad people, they don’t love our country, and they’re not taking down our monuments,” he said.

      In Trump World, to “love” Jackson is to love the country, to “love” Harriett Tubman is to be an anarchist or “bad people”

      TRUMPISM — us (white people) versus them (criminals which includes black people, Mexicans, liberals etc)

      The king of bullshit speaketh….. Go on Verge. Tell me more about how good all the people who oppose Trump are wonderful human beings fighting the oppression of the state while you work towards getting Joe Biden elected President…. That doesn’t make fucking sense you asshole. Be a libertarian or an anarchist or something but don’t spin these bullshit lies while contradicting your own stated views. It doesn’t make sense. God you’re dumb.

      So just to be clear I can read and here’s my take of what you just said.

      VIRGIL – You cant campaign on racism and then complain people are providing the opposite view to racism

      Trump = bad
      Against Trump = good

      Please point out where I’m wrong.

      Should protests continue to escalate I’m confident that your wold view will continue to devolve into the cartoonish. Objectivity be damned.

      Trump doesn’t want the city on fire? Well I know what we’re doing tonight!

      JBear, I think Trump is a moron, but if Obama took the same stance it would be equally bad because it is OBJECTIVELY bad . . .

      you cant have it both way. I presented the actual examples, tell me where I am wrong or . . don’t . . because you cant . . so just SHOUT some more

      Youre wrong right ^^^^^ but here I will fix it for you:

      VIRGIL – You cant campaign on racism and then complain people are providing the opposite view to racism

      RACISM = bad
      Against RACISM = good

      I don’t know if Trump is actually racists but its beyond any reasonable dispute that he uses RACISM for electoral gain

      But again, my point is that the Jackson thing is a response to RACISM, the kind of which Trump directly engaged in because eh thinks it appeals to his base.

      By the way, is that surprising (he types on the Cove)?

      But your argument is essentially, Trump is a racist so he started it. Many people don’t agree that he’s a racist. Even your Harriet Tubman argument you quote Trump saying that putting Tubman on the $20 bill is “pure political correctness”. Being against woke ass, left wing political correctness and virtue signaling is not the same thing as being a racist POS.

      Neither is saying that both sides share some blame. no matter how many times you kick and scream about it, he’s actually correct to call out violence and to not encourage antifascists by making their tactics ok…. which is exactly what calling everything bad that happened in Charlotte the fault of only one side would have done… we’ve been down this road. I believe that my view is far more unbiased and open minded and fair. It has to be the same for everyone all the time. It is well known that there were many antifascists in Charlotte who used tactics that they have since tried to hide. Even antifa now understands that it was a mistake… at least to be open about looking for violence.

      And this is important because it’s a big part of your claim that Trump is a racist. Trump is a racist about how Joe Biden is a racist. Two old white guys with outdated world views. But Trump could not have been more right than to call out both sides in Charlotte. I will always stand by that no matter who was president. Would have been interesting if Obama was president but I think even he and his people could have seen the danger of condoning radical left wing violence by signalling it didn’t count because white supremacists suck. I mean really It would have been interesting. If he didn’t call out both sides would we have seen an increase in this type of thing…. isn’t Obama smart enough to understand that? I think he is.

      Anyway this is your usual line of thought. A bunch of insensitive, intolerant left wing propaganda stated as fact. I actually do believe that you don’t question if it’s factual because you know it is… end of the discussion I guess. Trump just is a racist duh. It’s just a fact!

      “ But your argument is essentially, Trump is a racist so he started it”

      No my argument is that he ran appealing to racists with symbolic gestures like scrapping Tubman (not coincidentally on the $20) and tweeting that she should be on the $2 and then having Munchin “postpone” it.

      That is a symbolic racists dig whistle. It’s a way of saying “I am with you white people and against them.”

      So, to now say that tearing down statutes is wrong WHEN ITS THE SAME SYMBOLISM, just in reverse … is hypocritical

      It’s poking a hornets nest for your own benefit and then crying like a pussy when you get stung
