In hindsight, this means nothing since we got smoked… However, up 7-0 and they score a quick Chris Conte TD…. Why are we kicking a touchback through the endzone after a penalty on the extra point?! We are at the 50 yard line. Every other team in the league would try to kick the ball to the 5 yard line and most likely pin them inside the 15… You see it every weekend… or if you really want to try something go for the onside kick and they get the ball inside the 40… but to just let them have the ball at the 25 makes absolutely zero sense to me… Am i completely wrong for thinking this? It’s just another small detail that makes you wonder if these coaches actually think things through!

and they did it again with 5:43 left… this makes absolutely no sense…. you pin them down inside the 15 or at the worst the 20… I just dont get it.  someone needs to explain this dumb theory

I agree completely, but by no means is it routine for teams to kick the ball short after a 15 yard penalty puts the ball at the 50. I see teams kicking it through the Endzone all the time and I find myself looking on, annoyed.

It isn’t just the prospects of making a tackle inside of the 20, it’s the fairly good chance that you’ll get the ST Hold or IBitB Penalty (which officials just LOVE to call to remind fans that they’re there) that will push them snug inside their 10.
