An ankle injury took rookie Antoine Winfield Jr. from a full participant in practice on Thursday to a non-participant on Friday, leaving him questionable for Sunday’s contest.

Hopefully just precautionary. I think Mike Edwards can do some things if called on but we obviously lose the ability to play Edwards and AWJ together in obvious passing situations.

If he wasn’t going to play then his status would have probably been doubtful rather than questionable.

He won’t be 100% but hopefully he can play.

No way he wants to miss this game, obviously.

I know AB is devestated hes missing it.

Both should be back for the SB at least!

      Per james palmer

Antoine Winfield just went through one of the longest on field workouts I’ve ever seen. A lot of eyeballs on him has he went through drills. The group talked to him for a while and then patted him on the back as he walked off the field. There was optimism, now doesn’t look good

This is a problem, we needed every piece of the defense out there to even have a chance to limit Rodgers.

The Packers are without their starting LT so maybe this will help getting a little more pressure on Rodgers thus forcing him to make some bad throws in the secondary. How is this for a positive?

Mike Edwards has made huge plays in limited snaps this year — played 10 downs vs. Packers in Week 6, got an interception returned to the 2-yard line, played 12 snaps last week vs. Saints, had a key pick. Both off deflections. Always around the ball, but will be tested today

It sucks. I picked Winfield as my X factor last week, and of course he had a big play. So it hurts, because getting those turnovers is so important for the Bucs. But overall the Bucs have been pretty fortunate on the injury front. They get Vea back so that’s a plus. The Packers are missing their LT. Every team has injuries.

This is bigger than you guys realize.

Edwards can’t play true FS. I mean, he can, but nowhere near Winfield’s upper echelon level. He’s not NFL Average as a Single High player.

We now don’t have a true FS who can play centerfield in 1 Man.

It’s going to be 2 Deep galore and that lack of versatility on the backend is a huge advantage Rodgers.

Bucs got this,no turnovers, get up on the line with pack receivers, stop the run,and run the ball= bucs win

Winfield is definitely the brains of the secondary and I’m sure he was calling out plays for us. He is our young Vet

      Losing Winfield is huge.

The difference between last year’s secondary roster and this year’s roster is AWJ. We became a lot better secondary with Winfield than without.

We’re gonna need Edwards to play supersub and hope he doesn’t get exposed because if I were the Packers’ offense, then I’d be targeting Edwards all day long.

      Yup.

None of this disproportionate run on 1st down and minuscule PA crap this week.

Pass on 1st down 65 % of the time.

Run on 2nd and 4 and 3rd and short and get 1st downs.

      Play-action 33 % of the time.

Go for it on every 4th down feasible.

      Score TDs.

Overload and A gap+ Stunt Blitz Rodgers like crazy.

Need 4 points per possession (40+) and a key TO/Stop late.
