I was hoping for a dog at safety, a ball hawk, a guy who will put his face into the mix. Physical and a sound tackler. Glad we got him as fans. He should boost the secondaries coverage range.

I was hoping for Delpit but I’m happy to have this guy. He can play both safety positions as well as buck linebacker

This fills a void for sure. Our defense is a beast up the middle now.

I am thrilled with this draft so far!

I think we need Licht to permanently draft from home with his kids in the room… maybe it keeps him off the sauce. They should all jump in the pool together.

I hope he has half of Reeds career. One of the best safeties to ever play.

I love it. Sucks to lose out on all the top RBs. But this dude is gonna be a difference maker on Defense.

7 interceptions in 2019!!! I’ll take that anyday. Also could be great on special teams. He returned punts for Minnesota.

Really good prospect. Pretty much ensures the Justin Evans experiment is over. What a horrible second round pick Evans was.

Yay. We got a coverage Safety.

Weird. Licht stays put for this pick instead of trading up for Delpit to leapfrog the Browns. Oh well. At least Licht stayed with sticking for a Safety, unlike last year where he should have drafted OT Risner in the 2nd round after sitting on his hands waiting on OT Ford just before he got leapfrogged by Buffalo.

Which was basically a sure thing when we picked him. The fact that his career here went the way it did was about the most predictable thing ever…and we picked him over Kamara.

I went back to 2019 NFL draft, where the Bills leapfrogged us to nab OT Ford in the 2nd round.

Original draft spots in 2019, 2nd round:

      38. Oakland
      39. Tampa Bay
      40. Buffalo

How it actually played out in 2019:

      38. Buffalo selects OT Ford
      39. Tampa Bay selects CB SMB
      40. Oakland selects CB Mullen

Buffalo swapped 2nd rounders and sent their 5th rounder to jump up two spots in the 2nd round. When Licht said that he wanted to trade up the night before, I thought he would be eye-balling Delpit as well.

How it actually played out in 2020:

      43. Chicago selects TE Kmet
      44. Cleveland selects S Delpit
      45. Tampa Bay selects S Winfield

Oh what could have been b/c Chicago would have easily traded down with us. Here, I was thinking Licht would have traded up like he implicated he would do.

Anyhow, I hope Winfield stays healthy and he becomes a Pro Bowl player in a Bucs uniform!!!

It is not just the lost out opportunity Ford but also Risner. But it is what it is, because even in drafts that are perceived “weak OL drafts” you can still find prospects that can help improve a squad.
