Five NFL players that could be dealt by week 1 by Damond Talbot June 30th, 2014 andre_zps7449645a.jpgTexans wide receiver Andre Johnson is greeted after the game Sunday by Tampa Bay standout Warren Sapp and reciever Keenan McCardell after the Texans lost to the Bucs 16-3 on Dec. 14, 2003. (Karl Stolleis / Houston Chronicle) The NFL season is several months away and there are several players that could be on the move.  Many NFL teams will be deep at several positions and these players could be dealt by week 1. Here are a few guys I think that could have new teams by week 1. Ryan Mallett – New England Patriots usually never keep 3 quarterbacks on their roster, and with the way the NFL has injuries, I would expect Ryan Mallett to be traded by week 1.  The Patriots usually do not keep 2 QB’s and let’s face it, they drafted a quarterback in the 2nd round.  Jimmy Garoppolo will be the new future of the Patriots, and the team will likely showcase Mallett hard in preseason to garnish the best pick.  I could see a team like Houston, Arizona and even the Chargers trading for Mallett’s service. Denarius Moore – Oakland is stacked right now at the wide receiver position, and Denarius Moore could be the odd man out in Oak-town.  Moore is a great player but with the team signing James Jones, and with the emergence of Andre Holmes, Moore is likely the odd man out.  A few teams I could see landing Moore are the Bears, the Patriots and even the Titans. Andre Johnson - It’s been quite clear recently that veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson is not happy with the direction that the Texans are heading in, and if the situation doesn’t get any better soon, the team may have to make the tough decision to trade him. I could see the Patriots, Chiefs, and the Vikings.Rob Housler - ESPN.com’s Josh Weinfuss confirmed reports that the Arizona Cardinals are interested in potentially trading Housler away, assuming the price is right. Through three seasons, Housler has caught 96 passes for 1,004 yards and just one touchdown. A few teams that could be interested in him are New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins, and the New York Jets. Christian Ponder - The starting quarterback competition for the Minnesota Vikings is a two-horse race between Teddy Bridgewater and Matt Cassel, which means that Christian Ponder many need to find a new team if he wants to find an opportunity to prove himself. I can see several teams that would be willing to take a risk on Ponder, a few are Buffalo Bills, the Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys. link
