Tampa Bay is on its bye week, but that doesn't mean One Buccaneer Place isn't open for business.

The 0-7 Buccaneers were busy making roster moves Tuesday, promoting tackle James Lee from the practice squad to the active roster. In addition, the Bucs released guard Marcus Johnson and center/guard Sean Mahan, leaving one open spot on the team's 53-man roster.

Johnson's release came just hours after he was arrested in Tampa on suspicion of driving under the influence. The former second-round pick with the Minnesota Vikings originally joined the Bucs on Sept. 2 after being released by the Oakland Raiders.

Mahan, a 2003 fifth-round draft pick out of Notre Dame, was in his third stint with the Buccaneers. He left Tampa Bay to sign with Pittsburgh as a free agent in 2007 before being traded back to the Bucs in 2008.

After having him restructure his contract during the offseason, the Bucs released Mahan just before the start of the 2009 regular season, but re-signed him after center Jeff Faine sustained a triceps injury in Week 1 against Dallas. Mahan started four games at center before Faine returned to the starting lineup in Week 6.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Lee, who has worked at guard and tackle, spent the first seven weeks of the season on Tampa Bay's practice squad. The Bucs originally acquired Lee off waivers on Sept. 1, 2008. He has played in one game for Tampa Bay.

The Bucs also made a pair of practice squad moves Tuesday, signing linebacker Lee Robinson and releasing Eric Bakhtiari.
