The final preseason game against the Washington Redskins Thursday night is blacked out. The 85 percent of non-premium seats sold before 72 hours of kickoff was not met.

This will be the eighth consecutive preseason game to be blacked out at Raymond James Stadium.

Georgehicks & Morgan are right. Additionally, blacking out home games has the unintended (& opposite) consequence; that is viewers that are not hard-core Bucs fans will watch other teams & pick another team as their favorite...out-of-site...out-of-mind so to speak. This will result in even less attendance in the future. There is potentially good news in the making. A bill in the U. S. Senate would eliminate the TV black-out rule for sports events that are held in publicly financed stadiums. It's part of an overall bill that would require cable TV companies to offer cable channels individually rather than a whole package of stations the viewer doesn't want. That should reduce cable costs. The bill is called "The Television Consumer Freedom Act".

ended up being a miserable game to witness - by midway through the 3rd quarter RayJay was practically empty......Bucs using DB Robinson as a RB show what kind of sham the preseason games are......

Revis was never going to play in any preseason games. His contract is only good if he makes the roster, and plays at least one REGULAR season game. So he had 16 million reasons not to take the field this preseason.

THE NFL NEEDS TO CHANGE THEIR BLACKOUT POLICY, AND LOWER THEIR PRICES FOR ALL PRE-SEASON GAMES, ANOTHER THING HOW ABOUT NOT BLACKING OUT ALL HOME PRE-SEASON GAMES. THAT WOULD BE A BONUS TO ENCOURAGE FANS OF THE BUCS TO BUY REGULAR SEASON TICKETS.GO BUCS

I agree with Morgan, to pay full price for the preseason games is hard to believe no matter who plays. It's all about the GREED of the NFL. I only go because you have to buy them when you buy season tickets. They even charge full price for the beer and dogs !

I actually look forward to the game - not a full house, stretch out in my seats - no lines, hope to see some decent play by the backups.

I would watch the game if it were on television, but would focus my attention mostly on my beer. This is the least interesting game of the preseason. The good news is the following game is for real and it is on TV!

I doubt Revis will play in the game.

I'd be surprised if even 30K people show up to this game.

Other than possibly seeing Revis finally play, why would anyone want to pay regular ticket prices to see a bunch of future-Winn Dixie shelf stockers playing in this game?
