In Tampa Bay’s 23-3 loss at New England, the Tru Beaute` Med Spa Bucs MVP is strong safety Mark Barron. Coming off one of the best games in his career in Week 2 in which he recorded a career-high 13 tackles, a pass defensed and a half sack against New Orleans, Barron had a team-high 11 tackles, a half sack, a pass defensed and an interception. The 11 tackles were the second-most ever in a single game in his career.

Barron’s interception came in the second half in the end zone and prevented another scoring opportunity for the Patriots. The team’s first-round pick in 2012 now has two interceptions in his career.

“I think Mark – really, of all the guys, the young guys, the second-year guys – has really taken off,” Bucs defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan said. “Even if you’re just a common fan sitting in the stands, you can’t help but notice the explosive plays. If nothing else, just the ability to run guys down in the open field. So something that might turn into a 15- or 20-yard gain, he can run it down for an 8- or 10-yard gain and get the guy on the ground and that is impressive. I think he’s had some excellent games.”

After a rookie season in which he recorded 88 tackles, 10 pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble, Barron has a team-high 28 tackles, two pass breakups, one sack and one interception to start the 2013 campaign. Barron is on pace to record 149 tackles this season.

For his efforts, Barron will receive a certificate for a complimentary one-hour massage at Tru Beaute` Med Spa in Tampa.
