PewterReport.com’s Scott Reynolds joined Booger and Rich on 98.7 The Fan to talk about Jeff Tedford’s recent comments on Mike Glennon.

Reynolds also said he thinks the Buccaneers will bring another QB to challenge Glennon and he thinks it’ll be in the first round of the draft. Right now he says look for them to take Derek Carr from Fresno State with their 7th pick in the first round.

I also hope we do NOT go with Carr with the 1st pick. The only QB I would be happy about is that if some miracle occurred and Bridgewater dropped to us. Other than that unlikely scenario, I hope that we go either Watkins or Khalil Mack if we stay at 7, but that also would depend on what we do in FA. I would like to think that they give Glennon one more year, but certainly need to bring in some quality competition. Lets remember that Lovie got to the SB with Rex Grossman for gods sake, and even though they lost , was in the game till the end. If they pick Carr at 7, now Lovie is tied to him good or bad. My vote would be to trade back and get the 3rd rounder back, and then go best DE, OT & TE/WR with rounds 1-3. realistically, if Lovie stays with Glennon, and he doesn't produce, I don't think it will be held against him. But if he drafts Carr, and Carr turns into the next Blaine Gabbert, it will shorten Lovie's tenure significantly.

I hope we do not take Derek Carr at 7. I just do not see him being a player that will help us that much and if you watch him in college he needs some work. For one thing he has never really worked under center and he also does not seem to be consistent with his accuracy! I say Khalil Mack or a defensive lineman that can put Breeze and Newton on their butt! We did not get enough pressure on the qb last year and that is one of the things our defense was lacking. If we draft offense I really like Sammy Watkins of Clemson but I think he may be gone and also this draft is deep in receivers so we may not be willing to take one that high if we can get a quality one in the second round. I just hope this new coaching staff and organization does the right thing and does not reach for a player just because its a need!
