Could The Bucs Be A Surprise Team In 2009?
Most pundits don't believe the Bucs will have a winning season in 2009. But in this Pewter Insider column, Pewter Report's Jim Flynn identifies five things about Tampa Bay that could make the Buccaneers a surprise team this year.
Bucs To Unveil Throwback Uniforms On Friday
The Buccaneers will unveil their 1976 throwback uniforms at a press conference held at One Buccaneer Place on Friday, which is the same day the team reports to training camp. The Bucs will sport their throwback uniforms vs. the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 8.
Ruud Won't Hold Out; Progress Made With Freeman's Contract
Although he is unhappy with his current contract, Tampa Bay MLB Barrett Ruud will report to training camp and not hold out. Bucs Unveil 1976 Throwback Jerseys
Bucco Bruce is back! Bucaneers co-chairman Ed Glazer introduced the orange jerseys and throwback uniforms that the team will wear on November 8 in a home game against Green Bay. The Bucs are committed to wearing the throwbacks at least once per year over the next five years.

Freeman Pleased Contract Is Done
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman discussed coming to an agreement with the team before the start of training camp. Freeman said both sides prioritized getting the deal done on time so he would not miss a single practice.
Cadillac Cleared To Play
Tampa Bay running back Carnell "Cadillac" Williams has been cleared to participate in training camp. The former first-round pick spent the offseason rehabbing his surgically repaired torn patellar tendon, a knee injury he sustained in the Bucs' 2008 regular season finale.
Sears A No-Show At Training Camp
Bucs left guard Arron Sears did not report to training camp with his teammates Friday. Sears, a 2007 second-round draft pick, has started 31 games during his NFL career. Sears, who is dealing with a "private matter," has been placed on the reserve/did-not-report list and replaced by Jeremy Zuttah.
Bucs Like Flying Under Radar
On reporting day for training camp a few Tampa Bay Buccaneers players discussed the team flying under the radar and having low expectations for the 2009 season. Defensive tackle Chris Hovan said the team has the mentality that they are playing for the playoffs, and center Jeff Faine believes the team could surprise.
