San Francisco 49ers free agent center Jeremy Newberry was scheduled to visit One Buccaneer Place on Wednesday, but he never made it out of Oakland.

Newberry, 31, signed a one-year contract with the Oakland Raiders Tuesday, according to Newberry's deal included no bonus money.

The 6-foot-5, 304-pound Newberry has started 90 games during his nine-year career. However, the former Pro Bowl center has missed 36 games over the past three seasons due to lingering knee problems.

In the meantime, the Bucs are attempting to re-sign offensive lineman Sean Mahan.
