GET READY FOR A DIFFERENT KIND OF BUCCANEERS COVERAGE!
Pewter Report and PewterReport.com are proud to announce two major changes regarding the only publication that exclusively covers the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and its popular website:
• Pewter Report is switching to a monthly, full-color glossy 8.5 x 11″ magazine format.
• A subscription to the Pewter Report publication now includes FREE Pewter Insider access for the life of your subscription.
WHY WE ARE MAKING THESE EXCITING, NEW CHANGES
It’s time for something different. It’s time for Pewter Report to evolve. Let’s face it. In today’s fast-paced times, more and more people in this country are turning to the Internet and 24-hour cable news for instant, up-to-the-minute, on-demand news. As a society, people are growing more and more impatient as technology races ahead to try to come up with ways to offer convenience and make our busy lives easier and more manageable. We don’t have time to wait. We don’t want to wait.
Recent surveys we conducted with past and present Pewter Report subscribers suggests you don’t want to wait a full week (or longer for some subscribers who have struggled with delivery issues) to read about Bucs news, especially if it is game coverage. By the time the Bucs game has been played on Sunday and Pewter Report has hit the mailstream on Monday, you’ve likely watched the game, visited PewterReport.com or other websites for game coverage and analysis, watched highlights on ESPN or one of the five local news TV stations and discussed it on WDAE 620 AM – The Sports Animal. When you received the weekly publication on Tuesday or later during the football season, a good chunk of each issue – about five pages – was old news.
The same could be said for the two pages of Huddle Up, which was basically rehashed, yet necessary and newsworthy, articles from PewterReport.com. The two pages of our upcoming opponent preview “Countdown to Kickoff” had to be written so far in advance that the information was often too generalized for our liking.
So what does this mean? At least nine pages of each Pewter Report during the season presented news that wound up being untimely. Therefore, we will exclusively preview and cover each Bucs game only on PewterReport.com in free and Pewter Insider stories. This way the most critical, time-sensitive coverage can be enjoyed when it matters – right before and right after each game.
Because the game coverage/preview element of our publication will wind up on PewterReport.com, Pewter Report will evolve and will only be published on a monthly basis. We’re replacing that content with new features and stories that will entertain and inform you and keep you one step ahead of your favorite team – and we’ll publish Pewter Report in a full-color, high-glossy format.
Don’t worry. Pewter Report will still have plenty of familiar features (Buccaneer Blitz, Fourth Down and The End Zone columns, SR’s and Flynn’s Inside Scoop, Point-Counterpoint, The Buccaneer Buzz, Voices, Chalk Talk, Buccaneer Outfitter and more) PLUS some new, exciting additions that we will be rolling out as the year progresses. This is an exciting time to be a Pewter Report subscriber!
One of the newest features that will surely be a big hit with subscribers is a monthly poster with a gorgeous Bucs Cheerleader on one side and a star Bucs player on the other, in addition to several full pages of dynamic, color, action photos of your favorite Tampa Bay players.
Rest assured, Pewter Report is only getting better. Each offseason issue will contain the same type of news, inside scoop and analysis that made you want to subscribe to the publication back when it was in a newspaper tabloid-sized format. The only difference is that we won’t be publishing weekly from September to December – just monthly. But the increased quality of our glossy format plus the inside scoop and unique editorial you’ll get on the Bucs in our Pewter Insider stories will more than make up for the loss of weekly issues.
Here is a preview of each Pewter Report issue for the next 12 months: MARCH – FREE AGENCY ISSUE APRIL – BUCS DRAFT PREVIEW MAY – POST-DRAFT ISSUE JUNE – MINI-CAMP ISSUE JULY – TRAINING CAMP ISSUE AUGUST – 2005 OPPONENT PREVIEW ISSUE SEPTEMBER – SEASON KICKOFF ISSUE OCTOBER – MIDSEASON REVIEW NOVEMBER – CHEERLEADERS ISSUE DECEMBER – 2006 SALARY CAP FUTURE FORECAST ISSUE JANUARY – SEASON REVIEW FEBRUARY – FREE AGENCY PREVIEW
The first glossy issue of Pewter Report, which will be our next issue, is scheduled to be mailed in early March. As you can see by our issue calendar, each issue of Pewter Report will be timely in its coverage, just not overly time-sensitive, which will only increase your enjoyment of the publication.
