I just wanted to let everyone know that WDAE has canceled the PewterReport.com Buccaneer Blitz show after a 10-year run effective immediately. This decision came as a surprise and was made by WDAE’s programming department and not made by Steve Duemig or myself.
While we did have an agreement in place, there were a couple of additional issues that neither WDAE nor Pewter Report could ultimately agree on prior to the debut of the show and unfortunately that led to the show’s cancellation. As is the case with our partnerships, the details will remain private.
On behalf of the Pewter Report staff, I want to thank Steve Duemig, who I remain close friends with, and everyone at WDAE associated with our 10-year partnership for a great and mutually beneficial run. Pewter Report is proud of our show and the ratings record we helped put forth.
Pewter Report wishes Steve and WDAE nothing but success and perhaps there will be mutual interest in working together in the future. Pewter Report remains open to that possibility.
There is an old saying that when one door closes, others open and that has certainly been the case this week as several other radio stations have learned of our “free agent status” and showed significant interest in having Pewter Report bring its Buccaneers insight and analysis to the airwaves. Rest assured that we will let our Pewter Report audience know where and when our reporters will be on the air talking football in the coming weeks.
