Dotson Has Earned Left Tackle Job – And A New Contract When the Buccaneers benched left tackle Anthony Collins during the last month of the 2014 season and turned to right tackle Demar Dotson, it was essentially a three-game tryout to see if Dotson could switch to the left side. Fortunately for the Bucs and Dotson, the former basketball player turned underrated NFL tackle passed with flying colors.
NFL Draft Writers Weigh In On The Mariota and Winston Debate
While the football world awaits Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota’s decision on declaring for the 2015 NFL Draft, the debate on who will be the better pro prospect rages on. From a Bucs fan perspective it appears Mariota would be the preferred choice, but from a number of national writers and draft services it appears Winston has a slight edge.
Florida State QB Jameis Winston Declares For 2015 NFL Draft
On Wednesday Winston’s father, Antonor Winston, who confirmed that his son would leave the Seminoles for the pros. FSU and Winston later released a statement confirming the redshirt sophomore would indeed forgo his last two years of college eligibility to enter the upcoming NFL Draft.
Tampa Bay Hires Dirk Koetter As Offensive Coordinator The Buccaneers have made the first of what will eventually be many moves they hope will translate into an improvement over their 2-14 2014 season with the hiring of Dirk Koetter as their new offensive coordinator position.Koetter was with the Atlanta Falcons the previous three seasons but came available when Atlanta head coach Mike Smith was fired following the team’s 34-3 loss to the Panthers on the final day of last season.
Tony Dungy And John Lynch Once Again Hall Of Fame Finalists
For the second time in as many years, to former members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Last year, linebacker Derrick Brooks, strong safety John Lynch and head coach Tony Dungy were all finalists for the Hall of Fame, but only Brooks was enshrined, becoming the third Buccaneer to do so, joining defensive end Lee Roy Selmon (1995) and Warren Sapp (2013).
