Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans will receive the opportunity to meet and greet the authors of Tales From The Bucs Sideline on Saturday, Aug. 21 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Authentic Team Merchandise “Buccaneer Heaven” store in Tampa.

Tales From The Bucs Sideline authors Chris Harry and Joey Johnston, both of whom witnessed the Tampa Bay franchise go from the “Yucks” to the Super Bowl champion Bucs, provide a collection of some of the greatest Bucs stories ever told, and from a unique perspective.

Harry and Johnston cover the Bucs as senior writers for the Orlando Sentinel and The Tampa Tribune, respectively, and both are graduates of the University of South Florida, which is located in Tampa.

“With Culverhouse trying to save cash, the 1976 team used a charter discount airline that had just two planes and was on the verge of bankruptcy. Some players were frightened, especially after traveling to the first regular-season game at Houston, when the plane had a rapid descent and practically crash-landed. Later in the season, because of the airline’s financial woes, Tampa Bay’s plane was not cleared for take-off following a road game. Culverhouse used a credit card to purchase fuel so the Bucs could return home.”

“Beyond the many receptions and too-few touchdowns, beneath the con-artist persona and shameless self-promotion, Keyshawn became much more than a football player. He was a walking, talking soap opera.”

These two paragraphs only scratch the surface of what Tales From The Bucs Sideline offers its readers.
